Went for lunch very nice plenty to choose from menu lots of offers. Bathroom clean and tidy. Children's play area out side Large car park.
Its a big place with a big menu. Ales are not great but that's not unusual in many pubs. I should have added its staff are cool, customers not annihilated with drink, big place means it is not claustrophobic, price wise food is comparable to a better known pub chain but the food here is way better. it's worth a visit a trip out and something a bit different.
The hotel in parts needs refreshing though Lee at the hotel informed us that maintenance by room is ongoing. Staff in both hotel and restaurant were very nice and helpful. Though for me Josh in the restaurant stood out as a well informed staff member. On our third day Josh did breakfast service and the difference in attention to the little details was noticeable to other days. Hungry Horse menu had different choices on offer every night, see menus on line for information etc. Overall I give my stay a big thumbs up for quality and price.
Waited 1 and a half hours for food, menus and tables we're sticky, grubs not that bad just needs to be more efficient with serving time and hygiene. lovely location/interior well priced food saves it from being one star wife asked a waiter to take away a finished starter and his reply was "yeah yeah" as we wasn't given table service and had to go to the bar to order this is the only real impression of the staff I had so not very personal/welcoming, has alot of potential but might give it a good while before re visiting
Looked nice but not very organised at all!!! When we got there we were told that we could sit anywhere that wasn't reserved by a staff member, then another staff member was very rude to my wife about where she picked to sit. I opened a tab at the bar and we all picked our food only to be told by another customer that the water was now off and no food was being served!!! Would have been nice if a member of staff could have advised that when we arrived and before we ordered drinks etc. No apologies, no refunds and no staff explaining what was happening. Very disappointed.
On arrival my friend and I were impressed with the pub. Nice friendly atmosphere, good service. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed with my food. I had the Southern Fried Chicken which was too tough to eat, the basic fried chicken wasn't available. I will go back but choose another meal!!
Such a lovely atmosphere and obviously great relationships between staff and management. Gluten free menu had a great selection and everything was well cooked and arrived piping hot. Will definitely be returning soon.
Meal was really good as usual. As regular customers was shocked at the service at the till when we came to pay.. The gentleman took our payment and we was waiting for our receipt when the blonde waitress jumped on his till to get some change.. I asked where our receipt was and he said I will get you it in a minute. My reply was I think You should have waited till he gave us our receipt., She stormed off no apology nothing very bad customers service. Cant believe this happened when all the staff are usually so great.
Hotel stay was cheap as chips. Could do with a bit of a refresh, but much better than you would expect or 100 for 2 nights. Heavy roadworks but slept like a baby. Need to illuminate sign to see from road. Really can't complain though.
We used the hotel, which was very good. We went the pub for some dinner, which was quite nice, had some drinks, bonus that there was a Quiz night on a Friday. Nice atmosphere, nice beer garden and smoking area, be better with shelter as no ideal if cold and raining.
