I came to this restaurant with a friend based on a recommendation. You can’t make reservations, so be prepared to queue—we waited about 30 minutes. While you’re in line, a waiter will usually ask how many people are in your group so they can prioritize seating when a suitable table becomes available for example, a table for two.nOnce seated, they immediately ask if you’d like the steak set menu with fries or an alternative option. If you choose the set menu, they’ll ask how you’d like your steak cooked; we went for rare. To drink, we ordered a bottle of house wine and tap water.nnFood: First, they serve a simple salad—lettuce with mustard dressing and a few walnuts—while you wait for the steak. The dressing was nice, but overall, nothing special.nThen comes the steak, sliced, with fries and a green sauce. The steak was quite good, and you can order seconds of both the steak and fries if you’d like.nWine: The wine was disappointing, especially for the price. It lacked body for a red and had a slightly bitter finish—not worth what they charge.nThere were several dessert options that looked appealing, but we skipped them this time.nnPrice: The set menu was £33 per person, and the bottle of wine was £27. It’s not a bargain, but I’d say it’s worth visiting for the steak. The wine, however, I wouldn’t recommend.
We came to get in the line at 5:30 pm, 30 minutes before it opens on Saturday. The line was quite long and there was staff to organise the queue. We got seated around 6:10 pm.nThe waiters will explain that they have only one set menu, how would you like your steak cooked, and ask if you want any drinks.nThe starter is salad which overall is good but nothing special. Then they will serve you the steak. The steaks were cooked perfectly for all of us with the correct doneness and of course they are tender. The sauce is very tasty and should be the reason the come back here again. Personally, they use the right amount of butter in the sauce. Not too much, not too little. After you finish your steak, they will serve a second round with about half of the first round. In total, you will be served a normal portion 200 g I guess. The desserts are good as well and worth to try the ones with photo on the menu. Almost forgot to mention that the staff is professional.nI also just came back from Paris. The decorations and atmosphere made me feel like I was in Paris again.nnLastly, I think it is worth to try once and if you really like it, come back here again. For me I think it is a little bit too expensive but I gave a 5 stars anyways.
All top scores and very well deserved. Forget about the reviews criticizing the food or the seating area or the wait time. This is a whole experience from lining up for over 45 mins to an hour, chit-chatting while waiting, then getting into a theatre-like atmosphere, receiving very well reception, service, and hosting, the allocated time flows smoothly, eating delicious food and leaving the restaurant with a “well-done” choice of dining. Go for it as a “lifetime experience”, you’ll not regret it. YW.
Le Relais de Venise L'Entrecôte offers a simple yet incredibly satisfying dining experience. The queue was long—around 40 to 50 minutes—but worth it. The steak was tender, juicy, and full of flavor, paired with their signature rich sauce. The crispy, golden fries were the perfect complement and endlessly refillable, making the meal feel indulgent and comforting. Despite the wait, the service was quick and efficient once seated. A great spot if you’re craving a classic, well-executed steak-frites experience!
Wanted to visit this French steak house for a long time and eventually came with three friends. It was Sunday after 1pm, we queued and waited for half an hour for a table, which was not too bad. There only one set menu that covers bread, salad, steak and fries. They offer one refill of steak and fries. The food was good but not great. The seat setting was very close to each others. We had two bottles of house red at £27 a bottle, that was reasonable. Unfortunately we didn't check the bill when we pay until two hours later when I looked at the photo of the receipt and found that they had charged us three bottles of red.
