Always fantastic service at Lawton's of Tadcaster whether buying a car or using the workshop .We thoroughly recommend them.We have bought 9 Ford cars over the years from them and we always go back so they must be doing something right .
The experience at Lawtons of Tadcaster was great because it was simple and easy Stuart Davis made buying the car a breeze and I would deal with him again in the future.
Disappointing Experience at Lawtons Ford Dealership in TadcasternI recently visited the Lawtons Ford dealership in Tadcaster to diagnose an issue with my cruise control. Despite charging me £117, they failed to identify the problem. It was frustrating to see that they couldn’t decipher the onboard diagnostics. This was especially disappointing as I had bought my last three cars from this dealership and always took my car there for service. I even asked Ford to adjudicate, but they said it was at the discretion of the franchise for any refund for failure to diagnose. Thankfully, Joel from Yortracked - Mobile Auto-Electric Services in York - was able to pinpoint the issue as a dirty contact on a switch and helped me fix the issue perfectly.nAnother thing that was frustrating was that I thought a Ford main dealership would have had a faulting kit, i.e., parts they could use to prove a fault, but they don’t. Their approach seems to lack the necessary tools and parts to effectively diagnose and resolve issues. In my case, I didn’t even need a part—just the removal of some dirt. I’m not angry, I’m disappointed. This experience makes me nervous about my next car, which will probably be a hybrid or EV, if traditional dealers can’t cope with diagnostics. I expected better service and expertise from an official dealership.
I was looking at nearly new ford kuga FHEV online at Lawtons and was looking to px our MG Hs exclusive 2023 model. So I filled in the online px valuation form to then get a reply from Stuart Davis that this cars value and age was the reason they would not do a deal yet they have loads of cars simlar age and value for sale. Obviously a dealer that doesn't wish to deal in cars. I mean I could understand if it was 10years old and worth not a lot. Absolute joke
Great dealership! The staff have always been very helpful. We’ve bought two first direct used cars now and have been delighted both times. The customer service is friendly and not pushy with both Andy and Stuart. The vehicles have been handed over immaculately. Very pleased and will return in a few years ;
