The opening hours on google are inconsistent with the actual opening hours of this store. This particular store closes earlier than advertised. After the sales assistant had finished serving us today she practically ran to the door to lock it at exactly 5:30pm before we’d even walked from the till to the door. A few times I’ve been in this store there’s been lots of loud, social chit chat going on between staff. I wouldn’t mind but they never seem to stop this chit chat to communicate with customers until they have to. Staff do not seem particularly helpful and willing to help customers. They feel unapproachable and sometimes quite snobby. Having worked in Laura Ashley myself previously, I know this is not the standard of service Laura Ashley strive for and coming here is not always a pleasurable experience. In addition to this - several times I’ve been into the store I can smell nicotine coming from staff (smoking on work break perhaps?) and it’s really off putting I’m afraid.

Top marks to the staff of Laura Ashley in Shepton Mallet - super courteous, cheerful, helpful and patient - even when I couldn't make up my mind which £5 end-of-batch wallpaper to choose!
