Excellent sweet and sour pork.....the sauce is served separately so the pork batter stays crispy until you are ready to add the sauce. We have had these on several occasions and the quality is consistently excellent. Barbeque ribs are very good too.
They are a lovely family business, they make their own chop suey rolls which are delicious !!
Awful special fried rice, tasted stale with hardly any meat in it which was very dry. The curry tasted like gravy with dried curry mixed in. Disappointed
I can only tell you from experience, this isn't the place to spend your cash. My stomach bubbles now just walking past! Chips are always stale even at opening time. The fish is enough to make you Ill. Undercooked, looks like it lost all its nutritional value prior to getting in to Lau's hands where it looks like it has been carelessly slapped in watery batter then flash fried for a few seconds leaving a slimy greasy nasty batter. It doesn't matter if you complain they just say Sorry and that's the end of it. I'll come in next time leave you £5 you can say sorry five times and I'll have had my monies worth. Avoided!
Seriously disappointed with the VellySolly Excuse of Service and Food Quality Here. Should be called Lau'Zee! It's atrocious. You can look past the dated decor n lack of attention to customer requests or enquiries if the food was ok, but come on guys you're a traditional English Chippy who've operated how long? Your fish stinks stale and batter was watery liquidy rubbish yet tasted of stale old oil masked in vinegar. Your chips are little hard pieces of tasteless rock that from experience look prepared days before they were served. Sort ya lives out mate!
I don't really understand the reviews on here. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the food is bad, but equally it isn't amazing either. I tried a handful of different dishes and they all had the same problem... They lacked any real flavour. It's like any seasonings etc has been scrimped on. However the portion sizes are great for the price. Maybe I just haven't found the right dish that will amaze me, but for all to lack in flavour, I'm afraid I'll be trying another chippy.
The fish are good but the chips can have off days but the Chinese food is excellent
Chips great, sausage great, fish tasted nice 3/5 curry sauce 2/5 Biggest problem is that I haven’t been able to get off toilet since eating it, not ideal when you work as a hairdresser
My family have been getting food there since 2002 and have never looked back. The food is amazing and the portions are huge. They have a huge menu and are happy to accommodate dietary requirements or change things. Family friendly staff greet you when you enter and you're never waiting for food long. Ring ahead and be surprised when you get there early to find the food hot and ready to take home. Ask for their O.K. Sauce is my personal tip! 5 stars.
