I was booked an apartment by Byway Travel. It is important to know that the address given is the office for Lamington Apartments and your rooms may well be elsewhere. My apartment was 10 minutes walk away along quiet residential roads. The location was pretty good for Hammersmith station. The basement apartment was a very good size, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room and kitchen and a garden space a bit OTT for little old me for one night only! Check in at the office was functional, I was given a telephone number for any problem which was useful when the keypad number was missing a character!
A very nice apartment for one or two travelers. Apartment was basement level, but had a basement patio in front of main window so you never felt like you were in a basement. Spacious room and standard small bathroom. Apartment was clean and I felt safe during my stay. Lots of food options within half mile walk. Train station half mile away.
I’d like to call out Aga, who was so supportive & really helped us when we were in need. We had our passports stolen & we’re managing admin with the embassy. She made all the hotel admin so simple so it was 1 less thing for us to do. Thank you, we really appreciate it.Rooms: 4/5
One of the worst hotel experiences ever..I stayed there for almost a month and the apartments were so small it hardly had the space to keep the luggage. The check in and check out timings are awful and the staff made no adjustments whatsoever regarding the timings and I had to wait for almost 7 hours for my apartment. Would definitely want to avoid there services especially on Hammersmith grove office. Rooms: Rooms were very small.
I wouldn’t recommend this place. The logistics for check-in and check-out are terribly bad. You need to pick up the keys at one building and then walk about 7 minutes with your suitcases to the building where you will stay. For check-out, you can’t simply leave the keys inside; you need to walk back to the other building carrying all your things again just to return the keys. The neighbors upstairs were unbelievably noisy, and there were spiders in the flat. Also, despite the check-in being extremely late 4 pm, checkout 11 am, the keys were not at the reception when we arrived at 5 pm. Lastly, the location is quite far from the city center.
We stayed for 6 nights during the Easter holidays and had no issues with heat/cold. We were told at Reception that the flat 136/3 had recently been renovated and it was very clean and tidy. There were a few gaps in the kitchen kit that I suggested they fill no oven gloves, no oven trays, no scissors plus they provided washing up liquid, two dishwasher tablets, two laundry tablets and 3 toilet rolls. No kitchen roll, cleaning spray or dishcloth. There was a pot of coffee/tea stuff but no condiments / oil etc. There was no dining table just some tall stools at the breakfast bar which were rather uncomfortable for me but seemed ok for the rest of the family. We had two bedrooms and one bathroom for a family of 3, which was fine, although the double bed room was very small and I would have much rather had the twin beds as a king-size and leave the double for the child. I did ask for this in our Requests but it wasn't actioned - I should have pushed them for it as it would have been much more comfortable. I liked the location - even though there was a road at the front and a train line at the back it wasn't noisy enough to worry about. The people upstairs were a bit heavy footed but they weren't there all the time we were. It was about 10 mins walk to Hammersmith which has a great network of underground lines Hammersmith and City, Circle, Piccadilly, District plus good buses too. It's not too far from Holland Park we walked - great playground, gardens and design museum and also a huge shopping centre at White City Westfield is just a couple of stops up the H&C line. Overall it fitted our needs very well. I just wish they hadn't been so stingy with loo rolls etc. Yes I understand it's self-catering but I feel that cleaning products etc. should come with the flat, you shouldn't have to buy spray and kitchen rolls etc.
The apartment is in a perfect location. There is an underground station and a bus station within minutes. On the other side of the block there is a small grocery shop, 2 wine bars and a coffee shop. The house was fully equipped. It’s a two bedroom apartment with a double bed in one room and a twin room. There is also a backyard! It’s very cozy and perfect for family or two couples. I definitely recommend it!
Nice flat in lovely neighborhood. Sure, not super central, as mentioned in other reviews, but close to metro stations. A bit noisy and warm, we couldn’t quite figure out how to turn the heating down. But we enjoyed our stay. Good deal for London standardsRooms: 4/5
Hello Thank you for asking about our stay. I must be honest and say that our experience at the apartment was quite disappointing. The reality of the apartment was nothing like what was advertised or depicted in the photographs we saw prior to our arrival. We felt completely misled and let down by the discrepancy. Upon entering the apartment, we immediately noticed that it was quite filthy. There was a significant amount of dust accumulated in various areas, and to our dismay, we even found food remnants in the couch. The lack of cleanliness was truly off-putting and not at all what we expected. Another issue we encountered during our stay was the abundance of flies in the room. It was rather unpleasant and made it difficult for us to enjoy our time in the apartment. We made several attempts to keep them at bay, but their presence remained persistent. Furthermore, the rooms were uncomfortably hot, especially during the night. Despite our efforts to cool down the space, it was challenging to get a good night's sleep due to the excessive heat. This significantly impacted our overall experience and left us feeling quite exhausted during our stay. Given these circumstances, we wanted to bring these matters to your attention in the hope that they can be addressed to prevent similar issues for future guests. We believe that it is crucial for accommodations to accurately represent what they offer to guests, both in terms of cleanliness and amenities. We appreciate your understanding and hope that appropriate measures will be taken to rectify these concerns. Please let us know if there is anything else we can provide to assist you in resolving the situation. Thank you once again for reaching out, and we hope that our feedback will contribute to the improvement of future guests' experiences.
We liked the apartment very much but it is a little more outside of the Center of London. You have to change the train at least one time per destination. The district itself is a little lovely with a lot of possibilities to go out and visit restaurants. The apartment was a little pricy for the location which is - as I already said - not very central.
