Had fun bowling, enjoyed a game of air hockey. Friendly staff. The place could do with updating.
Came here today Sunday with my family. Place is a bit run down and clearly needs some investment but staff are friendly and willing to help, with the exception of the young lady that was on reception who gave us the distinct impression that she didn't want to be there in fact she kept wandering off and leaving the others to work. The rest of the staff though were excellent, particularly the female manager who was cheerful and friendly, despite being very busy running around everywhere and the lady who was on the bar was great too.
Fantastic having read the reviews I was quite nervous about going but we where on holiday and my son loves bowling. On arrival we where greated quickly and in a friendly manor and despite there being 3 of us we stated only 1 child to bowl. This was no problem at all and we where told because It was before 12pm the games where £2 each. As we where paying and the lane was being set up a staff member had come over to warn us she had just cleaned the disabled toilet and to be very careful if my son needed to use them - she had spotted he was special needs and said if we needed help with anything, to let them know. There where 3 other parties bowling and not once did I see any lanes break down we stayed about an hour. I was even thanked for returning our glasses to the bar when we had finished. The reviews said it's dated and i agree it is, but it was also clean and fit for purposes and I'm more than happy with that. Would I go back? Yes without a doubt
Went bowling here twice in n the last year 1st time wasn't too bad but this time we went. they were very under staffed. there was the barman complaining he was working on his own while catering for a party and when he went to finally do us a drink he served it in a smeared dirty glass after finding loads of other dirty ones. We struggled to get attention of staff when we wanted to start our second game. The man behind the main counter was very scruffy for that kind of establishment. Went to get a second drink. The bar man was busy doing food for the party and said won't be long. Ten minutes later still nothing so I gave up. Won't be going again. Lanes are very run down. Kind of expecting it not to be there in ten years.
Was ok but not for the serious player. Balls a bit past it and the floor needs a refurbishment. 10 min wait at the bar as the 3 staff members argued over who was going to serve. Looked and tasted like the Carling pipeline had not been cleaned for a few weeks. We would have ordered more drinks and food but was put off.
Went for a family bowl here. Friendly staff and kids had a good time however place seems abit old and could do with abit of updating. Also side bumpers have to ever stay up or stay down, can't adjust for each bowler.
Gone down hill massively since it turned from a lakeside bowling alley to MFA. Most of the amusements are not working 2 out of 4 of the pool tables were out of order, almost always 1 or 2 of the bowling lanes are shut. There also tends to only be 2 or 3 staff working at one time w ho don't care for their job and food is only limited and served for a short period of time. I love the place as it brings back fond memories of when it was well run but unfortunately seems on the brink of existence anymore. Real shame...
Love it here but it's seriously in need of a refurb. Every time we go, many lanes are closed due to errors and we've had problems on a few lanes when visited. Good facilities though and worth a visit. Also handily placed in the centre of town.
This place is absolutely awful. The lanes are falling apart & are warped. The roof has holes in it. The toilets are beyond awful. The staff are good but I don't envy them working in that place. It desperately needs updating & some money spent on it.
On the pricier side for bowling but there are deals available on certain days or at certain times. You don't need to hire bowling shoes as you are allowed to wear your own as long as they are suitable. There is a bar available as well as other arcade games. Staff are friendly and willing to help.
