One of the best hotels we stayed recently. Wonderful location and a great spa facilities. Rooms are spacious and food is nice. Staff are professional and friendly. I will recommend this hotel to my friends definitely. Rooms: Very decent rooms in wonderful location
We stopped by for afternoon tea, but had no reservation. Chris made wonderful effort to accomodate us and made our experience very pleasant. He even went above and beyond to congratulate my girlfriend for her recent graduation with a delicious congratulation message. Thank you for the great service!
Great place to stay. Lovely breakfast. Though we left our 3 cordial drinks, the hotel did not call us to let us know if they had it.Rooms: 4/5
My wife and I visited the Lakeside Spa on the 10th May for our 10 year wedding anniversary. It was absolutely fantastic. Friendly welcome from the Spa reception team, clean towels and robes and the facilities were lovely. Our favourite is the outdoor hot tub, sitting back enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. The scented Saunas Lavender and Eucalyptus are also very good. Indoors you will find another more traditional Sauna, steam room, another hot tub and decent swimming pool, with chairs and loungers. Facilities are clean and fresh. We live locally and try to visit every couple of months for some relaxation.
We had a three night stay in the hotel, the complex is set in large grounds with a picturesque lake, the building appears to be late 20th C which is large and spacious as are the reception areas, hallways and stairwells, the carpets and fittings seem up to date and we'll maintained. The Wooton bridge area has an interesting local history said to be once visited by King Canut The Brasserie building was also very spacious and split level with ample outdoor dining area and well spaced tables, the buffet breakfast and evening meals were very good. The staff were well turned out very polite and professional. The room itself however was not as satisfactory, although the bathroom was clean and modern and the carpets up to date the furniture was dated, worn and tattered. The mattress had some rather gross stains under the cover and the curtains were torn and ragged. This didn't detract from our overall positive experience in a big way but for this reason I can only award 4 stars and sad to say if I visit the island again I won't be returning to this hotel.
We booked to stay over a weekend for our son’s wedding in what was advertised as a four star hotel. It is no-where near four star. The only thing that elevates this hotel above two star accommodation was the superb quality of the staff and food in the Brasserie restaurant. To describe the room ‘tired’ would be an understatement. Very heavy wear showed on all surfaces with wooden finishes chipped and peeling and soft furnishings either time soiled or just plain dirty. There was mold and limescale on the walls and shower screen in the bathroom with a rusty, dented bin and the floor tiles had missing and discoloured grouting. The headboard surround had a large gouge out of it that it looked like someone had tried to repair with boot polish, unsuccessfully, and the bed was lumpy with an almost microfibre thin quilt on. Don’t think we need to go into the state of the kettle. Our other son had stayed in the Premier Inn and to say their room was far better would be an understatement. Unfortunately I can’t describe this hotel in the options given as it is certainly none of them.
Didn't realise how close this was to the Fishbourne Isle of Wight ferry terminal. Geographically, very convenient location. The service at the restaurant was impeccable and even though there was a wedding going on at the same time we were very well looked after. The food we had a light lunch before our Spa session was delicious and very well presented. The view from the decking was lovely too. The Spa itself was very relaxing and we felt thoroughly pampered and taken care off. We were also able to enjoy the Sauna and swimming pool and the outdoor thermal spa was glorious on such a lovely sunny day. We couldn't have asked for better. For a four star hotel I was very impressed at how I was treated even though I personally felt bad for turning up in Adidas joggy bottoms and a tshirt we were on holiday. Next time I'll make more of an effort : just want to thank the staff so much for making us feel so welcome and hope we can visit again soon.
A lovely short winter break for our anniversary. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Food and service good all good in the Brasserie whether it be breakfast or evening meal. Hotel was clean and tidy. Would recommend a Room over looking the lake. Spa facilities good and again lovely staff.Rooms: 5/5
Had a delightful afternoon tea here. It was fairly pricey but that being said the staff were absolutely top notch, it's been ages since I have come across such excellent and formal service. The afternoon tea was unique and delicious.
I have visited Lakeside many times, staying overnight a few of those times. I really enjoyed the dinner at the Brasserie and the service was exceptional. Their afternoon teas are also amazing, but very large, and we always end up taking food home! The rooms are nice, nothing spectacular, though the Lake view rooms have an added bonus of the view of course, these are more expensive. The spa is always clean and well maintained, the ladies working in there are really friendly. The facilities are good, but sometimes the guests are not too good at sharing and we have experienced times when people have stayed in the jacuzzi for 30 minutes. A lot of the packages now only allow two hours use of the spa, so this can be quite frustrating. I would come back, however, my husband has vowed never to return. On our last spa day, he left his necklace in the changing rooms. When we arrived home 20 minutes later, he called the spa and asked the ladies to check the changing rooms. This necklace had huge sentimental value so it was really important to him. He was advised they would check and call him back either way. Nearly an hour passed and he hadn't heard from them so he called back to be told they were too busy to check but they would. He called a further two times that day, and at the end of the day they told him the necklace had not been found. Had they told us in the first instance that they were too busy to look, we could've come back to the spa to check for ourselves. The necklace was never recovered, despite us offering a cash reward and my husband is sure that the necklace would have been located if they had checked immediately. Ultimately, of course, it was his fault for taking the necklace off and putting it down when he was dressing to leave, but I do feel the situation could have been much better handled, especially as he had explained to the staff the sentimental and financial value of the necklace.
