I wanted a spice grinder in a bit of a hurry and saw it on Amazon for 21.40. Checked to see if Lakeland had it - they did but for 35 pounds! I asked if they would Price Match and was told by their ordering Dept (Heather) that, Yes, it was company policy to do so!  I called the store, but they didn't have in stock, so I thought (since Amazon didn't overnight del for this item) I would order from Lakeland online and pay the next day del fees since they were price matching. When I called back I got Phillip, who wasn't sure how to process this so was supposedly going to have a specialist call me back. I missed that call while in the shower so I called back again.. This time i got Jane (nobody gives their last name or employee number - convenient, eh?) who had to consult her supervisor while she tried to find every reason why she wasn't able to do this...  I was left on hold and then she tried to tell me they would struggle to do this as it was Amazon - even though I had checked clearly with the 1st person I spoke with.  4 people - all incompetent with terrible training obviously.  My absolutel pet peeve is the sound of apathy on the telephone from staff. 
 I gave up.  Good old Amazon will just order the darn thing and I won't have to haggle and go through so many securty q's at the beginning of each call!  Lakeland, know this: Customers do not want to hear what you CAN'T do, they want to hear (consistently) what you CAN.  No wonder so many businesses are not doing well.

Great shop! Very friendly people and extremely helpful. They took 5 pounds off an item so that we could pay for it via Android pay, as we had forgotten the debit card. Overall, an excellent shop, with even better staff members. Would definitely recommend a visit!

I bought the Bethlehem Advent Calendar for my girlfriend from Lakeland. It was a really nice calendar and was supposed to come with 24 really nice pieces that you build up the nativity scene with. I left a review on their amazon page (from which the product has now been removed). The pieces that came were either broken or broke when placed in their position on the calendar  (the angels pin into the top of the stable). Not even an apology or replacement pieces were offered. A couple of the animals even had their legs broken off which was discovered when unwrapping them. They were supposed to be in bubble wrap that stopped any damage rather than causing it. When spending so much money on an advent calendar you do not expect this level of quality in the product. I would recommend that you avoid buying anything as if there is a fault with the product they don't care!

The electric air drier we wanted was sold out when we arrived but the CSA quickly reordered it for the next day.
