A cute little cafe in the heart of Edinburgh Old Town. This cafe serves breakfast/ lunch / brunch. Everything is pink and perfect for kids and adults alike. The dishes were well presented and our server Mo was exceptional. All the food came out quick. Personally I did the think the pancakes were a little dry and needed more sauce or something else, they are served with candyfloss on top which the kids loved. The unicorn and ruby latte were subtle in taste, but if you add coffee it may be better. Overall a really Instagramable cafe.
Great decor but average food. However, they offer some very interesting options that you likely won't find elsewhere like the "satay French toast". Seating and service can be very slow given that they get busy. Would definitely try to revisit and update the score after I try other food options as they are one of few halal food places that are offering something different.
You cannot leave Edinburgh without trying the birthday cake they have. It’s just the best! Trust me… I’m a cake lover and this was the best I’ve tried in a while, it was perfect!! Plus it was a big portion for a cake, you can easily share but it is so delicious that you might not want to. The service was really nice as well, they were very attentive and smiley. We didn’t have a booking but it was not that crowded so we could find a table. Later on that same day we passed by and it was full… so consider booking online. You can have a beautiful view if you eat outdoors. It is a little bit pricey but totally worth it. We had a chai, hot chocolate, and the birthday cake; £16,50 I think. I’m actually sad we don’t have this café where I live.
The cafe has beautiful interiors and is very Instagramable but the food is quite average. The seating space is also quite less. I ordered the avo on toast which was not the best. The Oreo pancakes were quite good. It is slightly expensive as compared to other restaurants in Edinburgh. I wish they would have more food options. I also was not happy that some drinks were bottled and not prepared fresh - I ordered the Cloud lemonade.
I only had 1 hour here as I had to get to a play afterwards. Just on the corner off the Royal Mile so very easily accessible. Cute and small inside but you can get tables for four. The name and colour pink is what greets you first. Great place for a pitstop and to drink great looking coffees and desserts/Brunch type dishes. I had a young child and he loved it. Very unique and worth a visit for Brunch.
We visited Laila for a quick drink while exploring the Royal Mile, and as it was a weekday and not very busy we didn't seem to need to prebook. The restaurant was very picturesque and nicely decorated, if a bit small. The drinks were fine but fairly pricey, and the staff were polite. We did notice that the cups and cutlery didn't seem very clean however, as one of our party noticed lipstick marks on their cup and had to ask for another one, there was something black floating in the milk, and the teaspoon I was given had stuck on chocolate on the bottom of the spoon. Fine overall but the cleanliness of the tableware should be checked before serving to guests.
Minus one star for the staff attitude. The one that was by the door was not very accommodating. We wanted to set outside, but she didn’t even allow it to move a chair from one table to another. Other than that girl, others were nice. The place has a nice vibe, good music, the food was flavorful.
Very cute cafe with amazing decoration, food was good; the Oreo French toast isn’t as sweet as it seems and I loved it, Im not sure about the pink avocado toast tho, it was okay, nothing special. Staff is really nice and gave me recommendations. It is located in heart of old town Edinburgh, great location and really beautiful on the outside
Website clearly says they keep tables available for walk-in customers but then claimed to be fully booked for the whole day. They do not offer cooked food outdoors, nor takeaway and the girl on the door was not very helpful in suggesting alternatives either. Shame about the customer experience really, as it seems like quite a cool cafe. Edit: fast forward a few months and I decided to try my luck again. Can honestly give this place a 10/10 - from the service to the food. It lived up to expectations . My previously 1 star is now a 5.
The pancakes and the waffle was really nice, capuccino was small for the price though. If you like to take photos to your food you will enjoy it. Keep in mind that it's a bit pricey so you don't receive the surprise when you ask for the bill, worth it though
