Absolutely amazing!! I didn’t expect to find a restaurant like this in Edinburgh but I’m so glad we did. Everything we ordered was incredible! Such a great combination of flavors in every dish. This was one of the best meals we ate on our recent trip, definitely worth checking out if you’re able to get a table.
Really lovely restaurant, we were very impressed. Despite some previous reviews, we found that service was generally very friendly, although slow to to take our drinks order. Highlights were the cauliflower fritters, chicken leg grill and the olive oil sponge, although all the food was delicious & packed with flavour. We were advised that a snack/mezze, grill and side per person would be sensible and found this to be good advice. Definitely not cheap though.
Sophia was amazing. She noticed that we had been sitting for some time and hadn't been acknowledged by our server. She apologized and treated us to a glass of champagne. We had a lovely dinner after that. The manager? Was also attentive afterwards and checked to make sure everything was okay. Then, Sophia misunderstood a request of ours for dinner, we wanted to share the beef plate and also order the pork neck but she thought we had said to order that in case the beef was unavailable. It was a simple mistake and we weren't bothered by the fact that we didn't get it because we did order plenty other food. Still, Sophia treated us up dessert as well. She was really solid all around. The good was also quite good. I'm happy we were able to get in.
A masterful culinary experience! The atmosphere is decadent - we were there on a night they took over rooms from the neighboring hotel which we were told they do when busy on the weekends. But the real show stopper was the food. So flavorful, amazing texture combinations. Highly recommend especially for vegetarians. The grilled artichoke and falafel plate was unrivaled.
One of my favourite places in Edinburgh. I’ve been coming to this place on and off for years and it never disappoints. Great atmosphere, food is incredible and prices are pretty reasonable for the quality you get. Service is also impeccable. I’d easily recommend it for anyone visiting Edinburgh!
Very enjoyable meal with tasty food and good quality wine. Staff were friendly and offered good guidance on the dishes and wine choice. We were sat outwith the main restaurant in a space between the restaurant and the hotel reception, a bit of a transition space, which was a bit cold and lacked atmosphere and the odd sight of guests in robes heading back to their rooms from the spa. The food was however delicious with interesting flavours and a good mix of textures. The Babaganoush was a particular highlight.
Amazing, I'll say it again amazing! The food here is absolutely beautiful. Service is quick and the small plates allow you to try a lot of what they have on offer. It's not what I thought I'd be having when coming to Edinburgh. I can recommend this to anyone and if you are in Edinburgh you must try.
Always a great eat! Been many times over the course of 4 years in Edinburgh, and BABA has been consistently excellent. Modern Middle Eastern cuisine - you can’t go wrong with any of the menu. Hummus is great, the charred sweet potato is a particular favourite too + the cauliflower fritters! The menu is tapas style so order 2-3 dishes per person meaning it’s not the cheapest place in Edinburgh, but you won’t be disappointed. Think Dishoom but Arabic/Levant. Restaurant is also nicely decorated and great for a special occasion.
We loved our visit here, the staff were so nice and food very reasonably price considering how big portions were and how nice the decor is! There was 5 of us and they gave us a very nice table in a hidden corner, so we had all the privacy. Loved it!
Amazing food and lovely atmosphere and decor! I asked for a quiet table for my partners birthday and we received a beautiful table in the corner of a seperate room which was amazing. Unfortunately the service from our waiter was not good and I didn't receive a small birthday candle on my partners dessert. I had kindly asked if it was at all possible and was told it was not a problem. Other than the miserable service received and the birthday request accepted and not followed through, it was a very nice meal and experience.
