The food was absolutely spectacular! We had the full vegetarian tapas selection and it was divine! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made our experience one to remember. Finished off with a cocktail of course which I've never tasted anything like before
Had one of the best nights in a restaurant I have had. The food was amazing and great value for money. We were the only 2 people left in the restaurant at the end of the night but a lovely waitress called Carolina made us feel very welcome. She even gave us a brief 5 minute salsa lesson which was a great added service! She is amazing and I hope we get to see her again when we next go! Thank you
I was lucky enough to win a bottomless brunch at La Mama Tapas on Abbeydale Road. After a slightly sticky start where they forgot we were coming that night and they had no brunch food or drinks in, it turns out to be a really yummy fun meal. The chef managed to whip us up some amazing Mexican Arepas. These are like burgers but the bread is made out of corn and taste good but they were a bit dense and heavy. We tried all the different fillings but the beef was my favourite. We also had far too many drinks, the best being margaritas with chili flakes in. Dangerous but very tasty. Great fun but been suffering for it all day today The only thing was it was really quiet. No one else was there as the brunch was from 3pm on a Saturday which is a bit of an odd time. I was expecting a bit of a brunch atmosphere but I guess the word needs to get out more. LOCATION 5/5 WAIT TIME 5/5 quick! TASTE 4/5 good food. VALUE 4/5 it was free for us but usually £30-£35 each ATMOSPHERE 2/5 20/25 good food but I would go a different time when it's busier.
It’s nice to support local family run businesses. The food had the potential to be great. I think we choose the wrong dishes though. The ribs were outstanding. The green beans . Server recommended the dishes which is always a gamble, but all in all. I would try again.Recommended dishesTapas
I can't recommend this place enough. All the staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable about the food on the menu. The food was amazing , the atmosphere was great. The owner was so lovely and welcoming I shall be recommending this place to all my family and friends.
The staff were exceptionally friendly! They kept checking on us to see if everything was alright and the restaurant is beautifully decorated! The food was delicious! I don't know the last time I enjoyed my food that much! It was so tasty, I was stuffed at the end of our meal. Overall, it was brilliant and I totally recommend this lovely restaurant!
Managed to fit a table of 7 in very last minute. Atmosphere was buzzing. Very friendly and capable staff. The only problem with the food was that I couldn't manage to eat any more!Food: 5/5
We booked for five when we arrived there was only a very small table for four and my son had to sit at the end of the table in the aisle with people bumping into him. The music was so loud that even though the table was so small we couldn't hear each other speak. My son was treating me for my birthday and I had driven from Norfolk for the occasion. So we were all very disappointed

Gorgeous food, great service and atmosphere. Would recommend booking especially later in the evening as it gets busy. We were evening eaters and child free for a change but they do cater for children and have special offers for them late afternoon early evening. The flavours were great, all the tomato bases had their own little twist. The only slightly disappointing dish was the aubergine which seemed to be more cheese than egg plant, still yummy. Also order some bread as you'll want to sop up all the lovely sauces! The lamb was tender and the sauce rich, my mouth is watering just typing about it. Another thing I liked was that water was on the table already, in a refill bottle, so no worrying about sounding like a cheapskate asking for tap water. I hate paying for overpriced water the cocktails are well worth sampling!
