Named after the world renowned opera house in Milan, La Scala was established in 1999 as a family orientated restaurant, with an aim to provide classic Italian dishes to its clientele.

Situated in the suburb of Millhouses, La Scala not only provides its visitors with classic and wholesome cuisine but also with an atmosphere to match. The interior of the restaurant reflects that of a traditional Italian trattoria, with features and fittings centred on a theatrical theme. The restaurant serves two floors, with the lower ground floor also catering for parties and those who wish to indulge in the wine bar. There is a car park at the rear of the building and visitors can enter from the bar entrance or from Abbeydale Road.

La Scala’s exceptional variety of home style Italian cooking; caters for all. The menu boasts fresh sea food, the finest cuts of meat, classic pizzas and pastas and delicious desserts. There is an extensive wine list and a specialist fish board that is changed frequently.

Wonderful meal with my aunt and uncle. Made to feel very welcome by the owner. Genuine home cooked, fresh Italian food paired with a good choice of wines. Great professional service too from the lovely waitress. Easy parking round the back and a nice choice of meat free options. We had 3 courses each - all delicious and all promptly served! Vegetarian options: Good range and choice. Parking: Lots of space in a car park round the back of the restaurant. You can enter through the back door.
Husband and I had our anniversary dinner here. Excellent food, fresh ingredients. Excellent service. We also chatted with the owner - that was terrific too! I would definitely come back.
First impressions of this establishment were truly impressive. Stunning and unusual decor of this small and a little crammed Italian restaurant. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating despite the business of the restaurant. And food... well... what can I say?? Outstanding!! The risotto Scala was to die for as well as the tiramisu dessert which would melt in your mouth... totally recommend and I also have to say that it is great value for money.

This was an extremely vibrant experience, especially for Valentine’s Day. A great atmosphere, lovely staff and amazing food! I would definitely recommend this for anyone and definitely couples as it is quaint, cosy, and a comforting atmosphere!
Came to La Scala with a group of my friends and it was a lovely experience. Ordered many different pizzas that we all shared and they were so delicious. Staff were so friendly and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was lovely and will definitely visit again.

Amazing place we just discovered! Went there on a Monday night and the experience was fantastic! Great service and amazing food! Really good price too. Asked to take the leftovers home because they are really big portions but they we're thrown away by mistake. Manager went out of his way to explain and said the chef was cooking me freshly portion to take home. How amazing is that? I said that wasn't necessary because a mistake can be made and he assured me that it was no trouble at all. Really happy with that and the service. We will be back for sure! You should definitely try it!
The food is very fresh and delicious. They have the offer of 2 course menu at £18.96 from Tues to Thur. We really enjoyed our dinner and had a great service.
It’s a dilemma! Do we keep quiet about the warm welcome, great choices of menu, the friendly, welcoming atmosphere, staff who were all of the same friendly and welcoming manner, the excellent food and drink, in the hope that it doesn’t get too busy so we can always get in. Or be totally honest and say we enjoyed immensely everything about our meal out at La Scala from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Obviously the latter! A real pleasure to eat there, the food was cooked perfectly and delicious, and accompanied by wine from a list that was obviously created to compliment the menu. Staff were polite, friendly, attentive and nothing too much trouble. Chatted with the owner for a while after the meal, it’s easy to see where the ethos and atmosphere of the place is generated from. Our only gripe - that we should have found it years ago!!
