Oh lala. Christopher is one of the best French restaurants owners I met out of France. Extra warm welcome, we were invited by some of his restaurant regulars which made our experience even better as he knew there choices and suggestions came accordingly. Great selection of international wine and forsure des grands cru Francais pour finire la soiree.
The restaurant is located in a cosy corner on Dawson street. They have a really good selection of wines there is a comprehensive menu in addition to the main menu. The food was really good too. Special mention to the The duck confit which was delicious. The place was busy enough for a Friday evening and the service was good too. Really liked the ambience as it was cute and cosy.
We had a lovely time here! The Menu is French Bistro orientated. Food & wine were excellent; pricing was quite reasonable, given it's location. Very small & intimate spot; would recommend booking. We will return!
I expected something nice, but I am very disappointed with food and ambience, very small room and crowded, and also very slow service. I thought that it was a French restaurant, but not at all. I’m sorry, but I don’t recommend it.
Lovely place but can be improved on many points. Decoration wise it can be made a bit more romantic with candles and lighting. The duck was gorgeous, the salmon could have been a bit more pink. For a wine bar I did not expect them to serve unrefrigerated white wine. After commenting they changed the wine without any issues. Great wines, great menu, and good experience but several points that can easily be improved upon.
I don’t like giving bad reviews, but I was very disappointed. This place looks so nice from the outside and then you step inside and it’s a small room with no charm at all, some white walls and ceiling with pine tables. A huge poster at the back… this looks like a pretty popular place so don’t really understand why no effort is put into redecorating. Food is nothing exceptional and no original presentation. The apple tart seemed microwaved as the apple was super hot and the base got very gooey after a few seconds. This was not worth the bill we paid and it’s such a shame no effort is put into making the place look more cosy or prettier for a supposedly French ‘wine bar’. Would not go back again unfortunately.
Waiter/Manager was rude and contemptuous to us for no reason when looking for a table. Dining area looks like an Asian supermarket. Didn't get to taste the food, but I suspect in this place the customer is always wrong!
Fantastic place for wine and delicious french food. The staff are brilliantFood: 5/5
Really good food and great wine selection - well I guess it is a wine bar .... food was great french bistro food cooked to a really high standard. Well worth a visit
Hidden gem. The new menu is great try the onion soup!, and the service and staff are too. Salmon with mustard sauce also great. But of course, the best reason to go here is the wine selection.
