Absolutely great venue. The building is beautiful, I was soaking up all the Art Deco from start to end, it's been so well looked after and the Plaza Trust are such a good cause, its a pleasure to support them by going to shows. The bar and snack prices are really reasonable for that kinda place and the toilets were really accessible and well maintained. Can't recommend highly enough.
Excellent venue ,beautifully renovated building,plenty of parking near& close to train station. Well organised chatty helpful staff,lovely bars , only negative seats are very small no leg room. But you can forgive this when you look at the art deco interior. Great atmosphere,will return.
First time visiting the Plaza in Stockport, and it was great. Art deco theatre, which has been well cared for by SMBC. Super friendly staff and good prices at the bar. We went to see DOLLY, which is a Dolly Parton tribute act, and it was fantastic. It actually felt you were seeing the real thing. The view from the stalls was great and at 27.50 it was cheap for a great night out. Short walk to buses, trains, and taxis. Car parking is nearby too. We have now booked to see a Soul concert in the next few weeks. Great place, so go and visit.
This is a really sumptuous old building, the decor is really something. Its run by volunteers and they really care for the place and do a great job as custodians. The seating is comfortable and the lighting and sound system top notch. I was there recently to see The Lionel Show that is touring the country at the moment, a fabulous show and because he's a lovely friend of mine he came out front for a pic afterwards
Great friendly atmosphere in this beautiful art deco theatre. Wide variety of shows throughout the year: cinema classics, drama, tribute acts, comedy stars, and of course panto. We really enjoy visiting this theatre.
I went to The Plaza to watch an evening of Burlesque. The Plaza is an absolutely beautiful venue complementing the magic of Burlesque wonderfully. The decor inside the theatre is stunning. The staff were all very lovely and kind, the facilities were clean and there are lifts and accessible toilets for wheelchair users. I went to the show alone and felt really comfortable and safe, despite it being a very new experience for me. 10/10 would recommend. A perfect evening if you're visiting Stockport or live locally. Thank you
Fabulous building takes you back in time. Facilities were clean and tidy and the customer service from the staff was outstanding , great sound and really enjoyed the concert , would use this venue again for a concert plus plenty of near by parking .
The staff were amazing, they had no problem showing us to our seats and were very friendly. The queues to the bars and toilets at the interval were horrendous and disorganised. The show and atmosphere were absolutely out of this world and well worth the money. I'll be back!
A stunningly beautiful art deco theatre with most of its original features intact! I attended the recording of the radio show "I'm sorry I haven't a clue" and the atmosphere and acoustics were perfect. The only downside was the rather confusing seat numbering system on the balcony with odd numbers being on one side and even numbers being on the other with the numbers starting in the middle! I didn't use the cafe or bar so can't comment on the prices or service but they were also stunning looking and fully art deco! Highly recommended! The wurlitzer organ that was used during the interval is beautiful. The bad photo really doesn't do it justice!
What a fantastic venue. A really well kept grand old building that could tell a few tales. We had a great night watching a Whitney Houston tribute act. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was awesome. Will definitely be back.
