I have been having LDVs for about 20 years but I’ve never experienced issues like the one at the restaurant on a Thursday late afternoon.nOnly 2 young staff on as wait staff. They were clearly overwhelmed with all the secondary school kids arriving in.nThere was a queue at the door which we weren’t anticipating - we went early to avoid this issue. I asked they’d consider letting my 38 week pregnant sister skip the queue given she was heavily pregnant. They said no - which shocked me and in my opinion highlights immaturity, lack of common sense and a lack of training.nThey said they best they could do was give her a seat so they took her round to seats in the takeaway side and promptly forgot about us so we had to rejoin the main queue and stand anyway. A chef made a smart comment about the risk of taking members of the public through the staff area - this was not our doing, we followed the waiter through this area as instructed.nWe waited almost an hour to be seated - and we had arrived at 4pm so off peak time.nThe female staff member on that afternoon was also a bit rude to us at one point.nWe were eventually seated and had to chase staff down for everything:n- To ordern- 3 times for some tap water and glassesn- They didn’t bring my sister’s food over either, I had to point to the pizza in the kitchen and ask them to check if it was hersnnWhen we checked the bill after leaving, we were also charged for something we didn’t order so had to return for a refundnEventually more staff came on at 5pm but it was too late.nAlso a strange move removing so many tables from the restaurant when the demand is still therenThe food was nice as always which makes the experience more frustrating
The food is very nice, it’s a shame the service is so terrible. Staff seem to be very young and immature. The last few times I have been there, staff just look at you while you stand at the door looking for a table. You also have to remind staff to bring drinks over after your food has arrived.
Really good portions. Sharing platter to start was lovely with wings, mushrooms and ribs. The selection of sauces was really good. Had burger and pizza to share between two. Was also very nice. Decent food at decent value. A lot of families and kids there, I'd imagine it's great for that sort of thing, something for everyone, at all ages.
Pizza express,Pizza Hut and all the other overpriced chains out there look to these guy because this is how it is done,nThis is by far the best quality,best staff,best Italian restaurant in the country.nThe quality of food was outstanding,the portion sizes were way above the stupid small overpriced portions in pizza express.we were made feel welcome from the moment we entered to the moment we left,the pictures speak for themselves,stay away from the overpriced ignorant pizza express chains come to La Dolce you will be in no way disappointed,well worth the 45min drive we will definitely be back.
Up visiting and popped in for a bite to eat and we weren’t disappointed. Service is fast and friendly and the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back again
