Really enjoyed the food here. Generous portions for tapas - we shared 4 plus some bread & olives which was a good amount. Paella was the best dish. Would be good to have more choice of wines by the glass. Outdoor seating at the front & back.
Sensational Spanish restaurant in south London. The food is authentic and delicious, top quality ingredients cooked perfectly. 10/10 service and a super interesting wine list. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5
10/10 food and lovely service in a low key intimate atmosphere. The best tapas I’ve had in the UK/London for sure.Food: 5/5
The food is incredible! Try the asparagus paella divine caramelised edge to it, the cheese board tiny but exquisite and punchy cheese that should be and was enjoyed in small portions, the mackerel out of this world, the sea bass ceviche mindblowing. We initially thought it looked too expensive for a restaurant in Brockley, but then the food arrived and it was so delicious that we couldn’t believe the value! A new fave for sure, this will be one for birthdays and anniversaries!
Disappointing I was really excited to try this place with my husband. The charcuterie board for over £20 was tiny. Tasty but I’ve been to nice places where the board is twice as big. The paella was so small, the rice was crunchy and the shrimps over cooked. We were not checked on to even express how the food was. I left hungry. I will not be back and I don’t recommend this place.
I’ve been meaning to try this restaurant for a while now but was left disappointed. Even though it is tapas, the majority of dishes are priced the same as a restaurant main course but the portions are absurdly small. For example, we ordered a mixed platter £19, which was frankly a depressing sight. It included a few extremely thin slices of chorizo and cheese, and two small pieces of sourdough no butter. You would probably have to spend around £80-100 a head to leave with a full stomach. After seeing how small the dishes were, we decided not to order more. While the service was initially friendly, it seemed all they cared about was pushing you to order more and became notably less welcoming when they realised we were not planning on doing that. I understand they may need to charge more for the current economy but the place had a lot of empty tables so it wasn't like we were taking up another customer's spot.
I was excited to try this local restaurant having walked past it so many times. It was very disappointing. The portions were absolutely minuscule for the price. There was two of us, and we paid over £100 for a bottle of wine, a charcuterie board and four plates of tapas and left hungry. Some of plates were also nothing to write home about. I know croquetas, and I have never seen smaller ones in any tapas place I've been before. The food was tasty, but nothing special, and very underwhelming for the price paid. The waitress was lovely and very helpful, the atmosphere is great, but I do think they need to up the ante big time on the quality and quantity of the food to charge this much.
Having visited 3 or 4 times now, I can say I've never tried a dish I haven't enjoyed. The raciones are beautifully executed, full of flavour. Service always excellent too, and a great selection of lesser-known wines. Always a treat to visit and feels like a slice of Spain in my back yard!Food: 5/5
My partner and I really enjoyed our meal at L'Oculto Cocina. The atmosphere was fantastic and the food & wine was amazing too. We're local to the Brockley area and this was our first time visiting - we will definitely be back!Food: 5/5
Had an excellent dinner here with my parents from out of town. The staff were lovely and attentive. We tried most of the tapas: tortilla, confit artichokes with black pudding , garlic gambas, lamb , spinach and leek croquetas , white asparagus. Everything was so delicious. The wine list is impressive as well. We had a bottle of Albariño which complemented everything. Would definitely recommend and I can’t wait to go back!
