We stayed at Devon Cliffs Holiday Park in Exmouth, and stumbled across this place on YouTube on Food Review Club. Pre ordering was very easy and clear. Went to collect our order, the place was clean, staff were very friendly. You could even see on their screen where their fish was caught and where the potatoes were grown. As for the food, very tasty. Cod was fantastic, light batter, cooked perfectly. But star of the show was the battered chips. Incredible. And the curry sauce was very tasty too. I would travel 4 hours to have this again. Cannot fault it.
Wonderful fish, chips and mushy peas. Very ample size servings. Staff are friendly and helpful. Not too much space to eat in to me is the only downside. It looks like the majority of the clientele do take-out.Food: 5/5
REALLY AWFUL FISH made up of scraps of greasy, oily batter with small hardly any cod which was dry SEE PHOTO. Heard this place was 'Award - Winning' so was really looking forward to ordering fish & chips here. They definitely weren't up to anywhere near the standard they purport to be.Person taking my order was friendly. Chips were ok but nothing special. I ordered 2 x regular cod which consisted of mostly dry and very salty batter with small thin pieces of cod here and there i.e. not a decent piece of fish. A real rip of at £8 a piece. I've had brilliant fish & chips in many places such as Lyme Regis, Southwold, Aldeburgh, Blythe and Tynemouth and I know what fabulous fish & chips are, and this place definitely didn't offer even average half-decent fish & chips. I don't mind paying decent money for good fish and chips but they were very poor a big disappointment. If you want live on your 'Award Winning' reputation, you need to consistently produce excellent fish and chips, otherwise it's a con. The evidence is very clear in the photo I have posted.
Best Chips ever in my opinion, not too greasy and always cooked fresh. The origin of their fish and potatoes is always proudly displayed which is a nice touch. Just a shame the shop is very small and gets very busy. Parking: Parking available on Exeter Road Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options are available on specific days
This fish and chips shop is AMAZING. There was a queue which was a good sign, fish and chips were cooked fresh, the taste was delicious, really lovely batter. We were on holiday so had no idea where to go, Krispies was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. Staff very friendly too.
We had the most amazing fish and chips from Krispies. Fish is fresh, and the batter is crispy. The chips are fantastic! They have a light batter on them, which makes the chips even better! I would highly recommend KrispiesFood: 5/5
Very tasty battered chips. Good sized fish. Reasonable prices. Easy to see why they won an award. Best fish and chip shop in the UK 2019. But still bloomin lovely today.Food: 5/5
I had Fish and Chips and it was very nice and staff were really pleasent and friendly! Nice view of church/castle from the property too.. would recommend Food: 5/5
Nice items, battered chips which were great and battered sausages ok, but a little greasy. Service pleasant and cheerful, but a little slow, although I may have entered the shop just before it closed. All wrappings good. Wife's large cod could have fed an average family. Will go back if I'm in the area.Food: 4/5
The best fish and chips ever. The cod was fresh, lightly battered and most importantly not greasy like the usual chippy. The battered chips with the curry sauce are a must try. Really hoping that they will open more branches around.Recommended dishesLarge Battered Chips, Cod Bites, Large Cod, Regular Cod
