It is great eating here. They have the traditional dishes associated with Indian takeaways but appear to have dishes that are authentic see my pictures. I have just got home from a great meal there and I am sorry that my stomach was not large enough to eat everything we ordered!

We have always liked Kovalam restaurant but now the food is even more delicious, in addition to a very friendly and attending service. From what I understand they serve authentic South Indian food. We highly recommend it!
My family have been coming to Brightlingsea for the past 7 years and always call in at Kovalam. We have just come back from probably the best meal we have had there so far - intense flavours and friendly staff. There was a group eating there at the same time as us that were on their 3rd consecutive night of eating there!
Friendly caring establishment. Hard to find quality and very reasonable prices. Went again and sad to say it has changed hands. The food was poor quality.
Eat here you won't be disappointed.
Really friendly and attentive service. Food was traditional Indian style but freshly cooked and of good quality
