Absolutely horrible food. I was with 2 more people and none of us enjoyed our meal. The mixed grill cost £23 and only the chicken wings were good enough. The lamb was overlooked and everything was dry. The burger was horrible and the chicken steak was dry too. Everything was very expensive and the portions were too small. The servers while polite, never asked us if we were happy with our meal. Additionally, we were unfortunate enough to visit during a happy hour4:30 PM and some customers were drunk and loud. I would not go back there again. How is this place so highly reviewed?
Came here for a dinner on a Thursday night with 3 others and had a really nice time. Lovely place, intimate but spacious, full of dark wood and brick and artwork. We ordered some starters to share, which were the Houmous, the Shakshuka, and the Halloumi & Sucuk Shish. All of these were very tasty, especially the Shakshuka. For mains, we had the Islim Kebab okay, Iskender good, Kleftiko bland and Chicken Casserole good. And for dessert, we shared a Chocolate Brownie and a Rice Pudding both good. Ambiance and service were excellent. Overall, I'd go back again, though probably to have mainly starters/ sharing platters, but I'd happily try more dishes from the menu, which is extensive. Drinks were also good, and they were happy to make mocktails for us too. Very convenient location too, right outside Limehouse station.
Would give 0 stars if that was an option. I am really sorry to say but this take away was a massive let down. I placed 49£ order hoping for nice and fresh Mediterranean/ Turkish food but what we got is worse then dirty high street food. Tabbouleh was tiny and with no flavour, tasted literally like chopped parsley with pomegranate. Mixed grill for 20£ was rather humble, awfully presented and not tasty. Beef burger was just like tesco burger meat with buns, no additions, definitely not homemade, looking and tasting cheap. Pita bread also from pack, definitely not fresh and soggy. In all our order only filo pastry with cheese was okey, but still not worth its price. This was first and last time ordering from this place. Offensive, not decent food. Things must have gone terribly wrong with this place, we saw some great reviews from 3-4 years ago, but do be mislead by them, nothing to do with current quality.
Nice place. music was a bit loud. Portion size very small tiny hotwings it was tasty. But the Adana kebab let it down smelt bad and off and was a bit red. Waiter took the meat away didn't replace or give a new one. Guy told me should of asked for a awell done. If it was steak or meat pieces then yeah not minced meat... First and last time. Hopefully they make improvements
Been a few years we are going to this Turkish restaurant when we have friends and family visiting. It has delicious Turkish food! Better meat plates than fish. Small portions for the starters but very tasty! The Lamb beyti kebab is a must try!
A very beautiful restaurant with a lovely vibe. Great for work gathering. Food was delicious and service was great.Food: 3/5
Fantastic restaurant with excellent food we have been here for our Christmas Meal for 3 years the food is excellent the staff are to friendly, polite and very helpful. We'll recommend 100/100Food: 5/5
Really enjoyed dining here; warm, friendly atmosphere and good food, with a decent range of veggie options. A friend and I ordered a mix of starters and sides hummus and flatbread, falafel, calamari, halloumi and chips before heading off to Troxy, all of which were delicious, particularly the halloumi - any other halloumi I’ve had since seems so bland! Thanks to the great vibes in here we easily passed much more time than we thought we would and left feeling surprisingly full. Staff lovely and friendly, cocktails were good, dessert fine but nothing to rave about, would maybe try the baklava next time. Perfect location too, ~5 min walk from Limehouse station and Troxy.
WOW! We were desperate to find some food and found this amazing spot. The food was delicious and the staff are kind and quick. EAT HERE you will not regret it.
Kirvem should be the best Turkish restaurant in London, it has the ambience and delicious menu options. It’s also a lot easier to reach than it might first appear, being just two stops from Bank on the DLR. Prices are also reasonable considering the good portion sizes, with one notable exception which is so un-Turkish and disappointing… Unfortunately something as simple and important after a Turkish meal as Turkish tea is a whopping £2.35 per tiny glass. Now yes this is London, not Türkiye - where it would always be free, but even in the UK it will often be complimentary and part of good Turkish hospitality. It’s mind-blowing that for four people dining together, a post-meal glass of çay for each person will increase the bill by over a tenner once service is added! Also, if you are a fan of lahmacun, you will be disappointed by the minimal amount of mince on top. You will find much more generosity in other London Turkish restaurants. I do recommend Kirvem, but culturally it’s a bit hit and miss.
