Not the best. Empty a lot of the time so easy to.shop..not much choice. Lots of betting shops charity shops. Had large morrison b and m and home bargains. Mcdonald KFC taco bell. Kirkby market good. Transport good..3 coffe shops..Post office always busy. Does the job but could do better.
Nobody seems to have ever heard of craft beer or IPA. Actual potential but seems to be stuck in the 1970's. Choice of shops is fine for everything you need day to day but beyond that, it's utterly depressing.
Kirkby Town Centre over the years has been in a slow process of redevelopment. There are new places to shop. Huge Home Bargains, Morrison's and Pure Gym. There are several eating places like McDonald's, KFC and Taco Bell. There is the Kirkby Market and lots of other well known retail sorts. For locals it's ideal to have on your door step and there is plenty of parking. Some car parks are free with time restrictions in place. The town centre also provides public toilets which is handy to have due to most retails only allow paying customers to use toilets in today's world.
Kirkby Town Centre has definitely improved over the years, and you can see the effort that’s gone into making it cleaner and more welcoming. There are a few good shops and food spots that make it handy for quick errands, and the area feels more organised than it used to. It’s not the biggest or most exciting town centre, and there are still a few empty units here and there, but for everyday bits and pieces it does the job. The atmosphere is generally friendly, and it’s a convenient place to pop into when you’re local.
Main shopping area isn't as good as it should be with quite a few shops closed now, can still get a bargain or too on market days though and great fun when events are held there which is most school holidays
