I actually went for a themed dinner. It was amazing. Had a such a good night. The food was lovely, some said portion sizes were small. Mine was ample. The mystery night was very entertaining and everyone enjoyed themselves.
This hotel was a really good experience and we would love to come again anytime. Since we had a very early flight from Edinburgh airport back to Berlin in Germany, we were looking for a hotel close to the airport for one night, but did not want to stay in one of these boring airport hotels. So we came across this hotel and booked it for one night. We already loved it when we arrived, due to nice views across the bay and especially due to the super friendly staff. In the afternoon we took the train from Kirkcaldy to Edinburgh for some sightseeing, which was very convenient. The next morning we were a bit in a rush before taking the car to the airport and left something in the room. Fortunately the staff was very friendly and helpful and found the item and sent it to our place in Germany. Service and friendliness are really outstanding at this hotel - thank you so much again!
First visit to this lovely hotel. Warmest of welcomes was given and both dinner and breakfast was top notch. We were lucky enough to be housed in the family suite: which offered a cosy little entrance corridor, 2nd bedroom with bunk beds just 2 of us, so not needed that has its own twin access; a comfortable master suite with TV, comfortable chairs, dressing table, tea and coffee facilities and an extremely comfortable bed; a dressing corridor that was accessed by both rooms; and a very cute full bathroom. The lounges and bars were decorated tastefully and the wood burner fireplaces were stunning. Being December the entire building was beautifully decorated. Our hosts were fantastic and whilst we are sad to hear they are retiring, we are glad of the opportunity to have met and chatted to them. Cannot recommend highly enough. 3 star rating seems too low for you get here. Rooms: Spacious, comfortable, tastefully decorated, very clean. Food & drinks: Amazing quality, breakfast is not to be missed. Excellent lunch and dinner menu. We attended a Christmas party night and had to be one of the best, freshest and was the tastiest 2 course Christmas dinner we've experienced.
We're only there for a meal and it was fantastic could not fault this in any way. Staff very friendly and helpful and not pushy as some places are. Altogether splendid from start to finish.Service: 5/5
Went for lunch and a chat with 2 friends. We stayed about 5 hours and were not made to feel we were outstaying our welcome. All enjoyed their meals. I had Culken Skink which was among best I've tasted. Service friendly and unobtrusive.Service: 5/5
Friendly staff room was spacious only there for one night. Restaurant handy just would liked a bit more veg with the roast but all round not bad at all
My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit in February 2023 on my birthday 2 night stay.Delicious food, excellent menu served by friendly, helpful staff who always smile at the guests. The fabulous hotel matches the stunning location.Rooms: 5/5
Went to visit today for afternoon. After being married here in 2019. We were excited to take our baby son to the secret garden... was upsetting to see its not so secret garden anymore. I know change of owners will have new idea but not the same. Will probably visit again in the summerService: 4/5
Service and meal was delicious certainly a big change since new owners took over we were very impressed definitely go back thankyou
We were there for two nights at the end of a two-week stay in the highlands before our flight home. The staff was great and the food was quite excellent. Our room was nice and had two chairs to sit in which made it quite comfortable. I did see that one review mentioned the floors in the hallway creaked a bit - grow up, the place was built in the 16th and 17th centuries. There should be a few creeks on the floors. If you want new, stay at the Hilton. Great location. It was about an hour to St. Andrews and took 40 minutes to get to Edinburgh airport. We would stay again.
