The go to bodybuilding gym located in Croydon Purley just behind Porcelanosa. The previous Kings lacked parking facilities however this one supplies plenty of free parking. This gym has everything you would expect from the Kings brand. Wide range of equipment that you will not see anywhere else. Ranging from old school to state of the art. Huge range of dumbbells. Plenty of space within the gym and great atmosphere. Staff are friendly, kind and welcoming. This gym has everything a die hard bodybuilder requires. From nutrition through to posing room areas. Whether full membership or just visiting on a day. Definately worth a visit.
Love this gym for strength training, but it needs work. The people and atmosphere make this what it is.nnThe problem is the equipment: dumbbells are mixed all over the racks and it makes your workout frustrating known problem for a long time which shows how careless management is, the staff need to step up here, and some of the cables are tired and either fixed with some tape or out of order.
This gym had a nice first impression but rude staff have ruined it.nnI came here only once for the first time and after forgetting to remove the weights on one of the machines although I did it on every other machine and didn’t even know that it was such a strict rule I was approached by a lady with very rude manners, saying that I violated the rules of the gym, and will get a warning and if it’ll happen again I’ll be banned from all kings gyms?? That’s just ridiculous, considering she knew perfectly well that it was my first day there and that I wasn’t even aware of those “rules”, cuz no one explained them to me in the beginning.nnExcept rude staff, some of the machines are faulty, the ventilation is super bad, it was genuinely very hot and hard to breathe there even though outside was cold, and the gym was very busy even on sat evening.
Great gym. Well equipped. Lots of weightlifting stuff. However, it's filled with influencers and people recording with tripods to a point where it'd a bit of a joke. Changing rooms aware a little run down and locker facilities are pretty bad. Great fot weightlifting though.
I have been training at this gym for 5 years and I have absolutely loved it. However a couple of days ago, due to a faulty clip on a cable machine I sustained a head injury. This was no fault of my own, it was due to a clip not closing properly allowing a metal attachment to fall on my head whilst bending over. This cut my head open and the person on shift has expired first aid training and said a lot of the clips are like that there is nothing they can do. I had to go to hospital to get sorted. It’s days later and there has been no contact from the gym. I absolutely love this gym but very disappointed that this has happened especially with how long I’ve been going there I tried to recommend to replace/ remove all the clips that are faulty but on the day there was nothing they can do. Be mindful of the clips when going to Kings Croydon.
