King's Arms, Ombersley, 01905 620142

Story

The King's Arms is a 15th century, black & white timber framed country pub set in the picturesque village of Ombersley in the heart of Worcestershire.

Boasting roaring wood burners and a real log fire for those cosy winter nights and for the summer a fantastic al fresco dining area along with a heated jumbrella for those long summer days.

Our emphasis is on fresh, locally sourced food, cooked to order just as it should be. With traditionally cooked, hand carved roasts available on a Sunday. Separate lunch and dinner menus available Monday - Saturday, if you'd like to book please don't hesitate or just call in, either way you'll be given the warmest welcome.

"A well established country pub in Ombersley dating back to Charles 11 and 1411c serving traditional gastro pub classics, real ale, wine and lager. There is also a 100 seater garden situated to the back of the building where meals and drinks can be enjoyed. The pub is also dog friendly throughout. The Kings Arms compromises of 2 dining areas with a 3rd private dining area available to be booked for special occasions, meetings or social groups."

This is my absolute favorite pub. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Staff are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. I feel valued as a customer and feel like the staff really care. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in the area.
Partner and I visited this last weekend. Was pleasantly surprised how lovely the venue is, pictures on here do not so justice!! Family recommendation and wasn't disappointed. Food was lovely and came out on warm plates, service was a little slow but understandable as it was busy. Will visit again when next in the area
I took my family here , for Sunday lunch . If I could go wrong , it did . Starters were missed , and starter that did come out , had bits of them missing. The main meals were truly awful. It was though they had been cooked previously and were reheated I've never seen such grey and tasteless food . The staff just had no interest, will a complete lack of social skills , blaming eachother for the mistakes. This used to be a great pub . Avoid at all costs
Oh dear, sorry to have to write this - Birthday celebration for 4 - arrived to find that pub has very recently changed hands - no mention of this on website. A number of dishes from the new reduced menu were unavailable and what was served was very very average. A far cry from the quality, vibrant experience I’ve had on previous visits. Given time they may be able to get this right but I wonder about the logic of opening when they are so very clearly not ready.
This lovely pub was recommended by locals we met in the park. Really friendly staff, lovely interiors - toasty warm in the winter and a great menu. Dogs welcome and they even made us some doggy sausages for the little fur ball too. We'll definitely be back.
Avoid... This was a lovely country pub that we enjoyed going into at least once a week. Unfortunately it has seen a high turnover over managers in the last 12 months, we visited today with family for a Sunday lunch!!! It was the worst meal I have ever been served, the starter was tasteless, the Beef was so chewy the knife couldn’t even cut into to it, the Yorkshire puddings were burnt!!! Everyone was clearly not happy as most plates were being taken back!!! We paid and left and will not be returning until competent and happy management are running the place. The staff are also incompetent and didn’t show any enthusiasm at all, they were also clueless. Avoid Avoid Avoid
What a disaster! Had friends visiting from London - wanted to treat them to a lovely pub lunch in the country side - booked a table at the King's Arms as it has a 4.5 rating on google and pictures of food looked amazing. Well, we arrived at 3pm. They couldn't find our booking. Staff seemed stressed and flustered. Table service became order at bar. No cutlery. Waited 75 minutes for our meal and then decided to abandon ship as we were starving by this time and my friends had to get on a train to London. One of the few roasts I did see on a table was grey in colour, presentation extremely poor - overcooked. I heard the table next to us complain several times. Everyone in the pub was complaining about not receiving food and the poor service. Tables were not being cleared. Simply not a pleasant environment to be in. We ordered a Bloody Mary - absolutely terrible, not spiced and no celery as they have run out... The left hand did not know what the right hand was doing. I cannot put in words how embarrassed I was taking my friends there and then having to put them on a train stressed and starving hungry. We had no sincere apology. The ponytailed woman behind the bar had a bad attitude and clearly the customers were a burden. The young staff clearly had no training and no customer service skills. They were let down by whomever owns this establishment. The pictures of food on the website must be from a previous owner/management, but it is not the current state of affairs. Isn't it brilliant when things go well, but when there is a hiccup, all falls apart as staff has never been trained what to do in a sticky situation. Poor management and poor communication is at the heart of it all. It is truly tragic. To be avoided at all cost.
Seriously avoid! I don't think I saw the waitress smile a single time we were there, and that's saying a lot because we were waiting over an hour and a half for a starter and a main. Both squid starters served without dip which was slammed down on the table when it finally arrived. Lasagna was greasy with no veg. Meat lasagna was greasy and sad. Steak was grey, greasy and was missing mushrooms and salad. I asked for these but they never arrived. Waitress clearly hates the work and the customers. 1 star.
Food was absolutely amazing, great taste. Beautiful atmosphere.
We came here as a party of seven and all really enjoyed our good. Great atmosphere - busy even at 6pm on a Satursay- in a great old building full of charm but also cosy with roaring fires. Foodwise, between us we had pie, lasagne, salmon and beef/chicken with nachos to start and desserts. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was friendly though slightly muddled at times potentially due to it being busy. Either way, we all really enjoyed our evening here.
