Great little pub that sells great home cooked food. Great value too. I had a fabulous halloumi Salad which tasted divine. Would absolutely recommend for food.Food: 5/5
So friendly and helpful staff. There was confusion over the booking, my fault, we didn't book, but they accommodated us, a party of 9! How good is that. Then the food, was so good, fantastic variety, including several vegan options, which went down well, and the carnivores were well taken care of too. Did I mention the chips? brilliant, and portion sizes exceptional too. A good variety of beverages are available as well.
I love this pub! My husband and I and family stayed in Newent in 2019, visiting from Canada, to visit my family in the UK. Wayne made my husband the best steak & kidney pudding he’s ever had, we ate here almost every night and the food was fantastic, and prices really reasonable. I’m visiting family again, we went to this pub today and it was fantastic! I really can’t say enough positive comments about this place!! Food is amazing!! Dietary restrictions: My Mom has had health issues and ongoing stomach problems, the staff were so accommodating and friendly! Parking: Great parking!
This is great old school traditional pub. Lovely greeting as soon as we arrived outside in the car park, especially for our chocolate labrador Zac! We had one of Wayne's exec chef steak and ale pie, mash and veg and it didn't disappoint. Highly recommend, and dog friendly too.Food: 5/5

Lovely walk from Newent Centre, friendly staff and nice country pub food, chips friendly and plenty of space. A must try is the Lillies Cider, Mango was our favourite but over space of a week tried several of them we really liked it here and would certainly recommend!
Stayed 3 nights in car park. Staff all lovely and very helpful. Provided bus map and local directions to Lake and town. Very good location to reach other places. Ate in pub every night, reading my book too and I wasn't at all rushed Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options but super helpful and I am sure would meet your needs Dietary restrictions: The mid week roast was beef i dont eat red meatso I asked for either a vegetarian option or swap to chicken. They happily obliged so.i had delicious roast dinner with chicken breast
