"Set in a leafy spot between Campbell Park and Willen Lake, David Lloyd Milton Keynes is far more than just a health club. Its unparalleled racquets facilities make it a true destination for tennis, while an outstanding gym, spa and swim offering includes an outdoor pool open throughout the year. And with a social scene as lively as our kids’ club, there’s something here for everyone."

One of the largest David Lloyds Health and racquet clubs in UK. Set in a leafy spot between Campbell Park and Willen Lake, David Lloyd Milton Keynes has lots to offer. There are racquets facilities, tennis, an outstanding gym, spa and offering an outdoor pool open throughout the year Restaurant has a good selection of healthy and yummy food kids menu is reasonably priced. The soft play is great lots to keep them busy! Plus the business hub is a brilliant place to work from. On-top of all of that, the stand out for me of the club, is majority of staff and their approach to inclusivity. Lady in the Creche is exceptional. She clearly loves kids, and her job, and it just shines through in how she runs the creche! The PT’s and desk staff are very friendly with the only exception being towel related. I’ve encountered a lady at front desk last weekend not happy that I wanted a towel for myself and then getting funny when I asked for a towel for my guest with a valid guest pass… how ridiculous. The whole purpose of inviting them is to see the features and benefits of becoming a platinum member and then you say, sorry ‘towels only for members at MK David Lloyd’ please get a grip. Bar that one scenario, overall I like being a member, yes the prices are steep but if you don’t want to pay as much go to a gym without a pool, restaurant and all the luxuries. Then there a plenty of clubs £30-40 monthly range, without all the extra facilities. Will certainly recommend to friends!
Joined Milton Keynes club earlier this year. Platinum package for myself and two children. Paying £310 per month. Outside pool has been closed on numerous occasions over the summer. Classes are fully booked well in advance so no hope of getting into a class. Unfortunately I lost my job in August. Try to continue the membership but became impossible so contacted the club to ask to cancel membership. Was told I could under the circumstances so was relieved, however since then I have been hounded by debt collection agencies chasing a whole years membership. The manager at the club will not reply to any emails or tel calls I make as I'm told it has been passed to collection agency. I'm discussed with the club and its attitude to its members. I have now found a new job and would be happy to rejoin but not after the way in which I have been treated. I wouldn't recommend David Lloyd clubs to anyone. They simply are a money making group.
We always have a great experience here. I love that the kids classes line up nicely with my classes. There's often fun activities in the clubroom. The Blaze instructors are amazing. It is an investment but as a family we're here at least twice a week, and 4 times for hubby and I. Love that there is an outdoor pool. We've made some good friends here and definitely use our membership to the fullest.
I have been a member for 5 years now and sadly I am on the verge of cancelling my membership. The offering in particular for our young son has really gone downhill. It’s all to to do with staffing but we are paying the same for less. The club also looks tired in places and during the day feels like a hired office space with people working from the gym, I don’t begrudge this but it’s hard to get a table. Staff are generally friendly but the atmosphere in the club is just not what it was and I’m mainly a member for my son and some nights there are no classes on and on others it is the same class repeated which is pretty boring!
Great facilities. But very pricey. Doesn’t help when membership team up your membership fees yearly without any notice. And supposedly tie you in to notice periods that are 3 months long, pain cancelling when your contract runs out. Moved homes so commute was too much to this DL. No team on site to discuss issues with, all online or chat bots, no one ever gets back to you. Not a great experience, unhelpful at best.
Great facility. Has a the range from tennis, squash and badminton which is amazing as not many clubs have that. Gym fully equipped and enough machines to prevent that wait the time.
Awful service. Good gym and Pool but terrible cancellation policy. Signed up for a one year membership by direct debit. Due to having a new child and work commitments I only used the gym once a month which was not David Lloyd's fault. When I reached the 11th month and cancelled my membership I paid up for the 12 months only to find out they had a 3 month cancellation policy. So they made me pay for 15 months even though I had used the gym only a handful of times. They showed no understanding of my financial situation at the time which was pretty dire. The fact that I had paid up without delay for my full years membership they insisted on the extra 3 months costing me £210 extra. I found the management to be very uncaring. A very bad cancellation policy why do they need three months notice? Insane. This is a pleasant gym if you have loads of money and like sipping a latte with your salad after a workout. But as a company very uncaring and inconsiderate. They then bombarded me with emails and text messages demanding I pay the extra £210 they threatened me with a collections company, showed no understanding or care despite my memebrship costing me £70 a workout. I definitely will be letting people know what a terrible service this gym provides at every opportunity I get.
The gym is big but it is the correct size for the number of members. In the evenings it is too busy. Weights and machines are not cleaned and there is no schedule to do so. Your hands wash black after using the gym. Management promised action several times but did not. The equipment is also not maintained. There doesn't appear to be a maintenance/repair schedule as machines are left in disrepair... including the floor which has had tape marking the damaged area for months. There was a hole in the ceiling in the spa area, covered by a square of cardboard for many months. The tiling in the sauna took the best part of a year to do and they never bothered to do the top row to complete the job. The 'hydropool' jacuzzi is too cold: 34°C. It just feels like sitting in a slightly warmer swimming pool. The chlorine in it is also so strong that your eyes burn standing next to it. The floor material of the jacuzzi wasn't stretched out properly and has left a folded texture on the floor. The outdoor pool was closed to change the filter during the hot period of summer. They had 25years notice to time this correctly. In general the outdoor area/pool gets too busy to use in summer. During summer, the outdoor bar remained closed.... Although they put out jugs of water... Extremely expensive for what they provide. The next price increase will be to £194 per month +/- £2 ...can't find the email, and I'm on a discounted rate. There is an annual Jan price increase for all members. Because I had opted out of marketing emails, I was not informed of this. In 2023 this was 11.5%. This increase would be enough to pay for a 'normal' gym membership elsewhere. Aesthetically, the gym doesn't _look_ like a 200/m gym. No luxurious feel like you get in European spas. Even with the upcoming renovations, they're bolt ons... They won't change the vibe of the gym and won't improve the overall management and maintenance of the gym. In summary, it's not looked after and it's really hard to see what you're given in exchange for such a high price. To put it in perspective, a top tier Virgin is £107/m.... Half. Side note: what's up with all these glossy 5* reviews with pictures of the gym.... Looking lit up and empty. It never looks like that. They even respond and thank the fake reviewer.
David Lloyd increased my membership 6 months into my contract which I understand they often do. However they decided to increase it by 22%!!! Effectively every 4 months I’m paying for another month! They couldn’t give a valid reason why they increased it… just blamed it on the energy crisis which we’re all paying for. Managed to get out of my contract 5 months early, worth doing for anyone who’s feeling let down by DL!
I love DL club…the best is the food they serve; it keeps me coming every morning. I tried so many dishes here, and all of them made me very impressed. Absolutely delicious; the intense flavour and the presentation of the food are incredible. After enjoying it for some time, I had to find the name of the cook in Milton Keynes, David Loyds - John. I have been in quite a few David Loyds in the UK, but the Milton Keynes food is much more excellent than any other club. I will recommend meals from “Light and Loaded”, “House Special”, and “Burgers”. I love the high standard of the food but also that it is fresh and all made from scratch, and definitely, I don't have to wait long. I highly recommend it, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. This club should be a shining example for any other club.
