A decent shopping centre with a reasonable amount of different types of shops. One of the better shopping centres in fife. Like most shopping centres/ high streets these days has a number of empty units but at least they have been a little creative and opened two empty units up as artist workshops and to display artwork. Would be nice to see them doing something useful with the massive old Dunn's shop. Maybe split it up and create smaller units or create an artisan style indoor market for smaller local independent companies which would encourage more people to come to the centre.
A relatively busy shopping centre with easy parking. I found the centre busy which is a surprise given that others in Fife really aren't. Kirkcaldy's Mercat Centre appears dead as the proverbial Dodo and Dunfermline's Kingsgate continues to 'wither on the vine'. Although there are no 'big' names in Glenrothes 'Kingdom' centre, there are plenty of small 'pop ups' and established small shop options that provide a variety of items for sale. That the library, theatre and a horde of cafes exist along with two 'loo' facilities probably helps attract folk along with the free car park of course. Are the shops worth travelling a long distance for? Maybe not but, the point is 'use it or lose it! Will I go again? Probably but not for another year I guess. My return would likely be to use the cafe in the library/theatre building, no reason why not as the cafe staff were an absolute delight, as were the library folk. Thumbs up to those two groups of lovely people!
Getting better everytime we visit. The CAFFE CAFFE is great for food and tea...
Wowee what a place. Never before have I been to a town where the high street is actually a shopping centre. Lots of empty shops but enough to do, particularly a fan of the H Samuels.
This shopping centre needs a lot of upgrading, they don't even bother having the lights on in some areas. Definitely not my favourite place to shop and not easy to access either without skirting round the whole centre.
Great wee shopping centre with everything you really need only a few empty units at the far end but nice to see it busy at weekends!
Go here from time to time as it's 26 miles away. Lovely well kept centre just disappointed the open cafe near bowling alley was closed, hope this will reopen in the future. Some nice shops and I always end up buying something.
Range of shops is disappointing and quite a few are closed but if you need a specific shop that’s in there it’s good. There’s a few charity shops with loads on offer. Toy town is brilliant and there’s a sports direct but it’s quite small.
Not a place I often go. But it seems a reasonable centre with most of the shops open. I was there at lunchtime and it was quite busy.
No idea why so many local people seem to hate or want to hate the centre ? People are never done saying it's always empty and there's nothing in it..Not our experience at all..We have been frequenting the Kingdom centre every other day for around 8 months now since moving to the town. Not only can we get everything we need, we are always warm and dry whilst doing so..As for it being empty - that's rubbish..Hasn't mattered what time of day or what day we've been in the centre it's always been pretty busy..Yes, there's the few charity, phone shops & the empty spaces people bang on about on these reviews, but they ignore the fact there's a really good local butcher, a local fruit n veg / fish shop, plenty choice of hairdressers, I can get my nails done in one of 2 or 3 places ,there's a hardware shop, Home bargains, various chemists, opticians and banks, various coffee places, bakers, & some great cafes like the bridge,Jewellers, toy shop, Gift shops, whs smiths, post office, natural healing shop, the poundland types, freezer stores like Iceland and Farmfoods just outside, there's even a Kilt shop, big sports shop, a computer game shop,2 pubs,a cinema, rothes halls, tanning salon, bowling alley, vet and a hotel all within very easy reach. The centre is lacking a little in clothing shops, with only really pepco, M&co and New look...but hey, we goto the cities regular and it's not much better for clothing in those....We've always found most of the centre staff/security friendly too..They are constantly working and cleaning the place....Only negative is the all but abandoned area at the very bottom half...That really needs to go..Sooner the better. There's plenty parking around the entire centre...Oh yes- it's also served by the attached bus station.
