I'm under the sleep clinic and have never experienced such person centered care. Throughout my initial appointment, sleep studies and follow up I've been heard. My opinion has mattered and I've had a voice. Every member of staff I've met has been the same.nnDr David O’Regan is the most compassionate and forward thinking clinician I've ever met. My experience is heard and valued. He takes the time to understand my concerns and I'm never rushed.nnAll my questions are answered in full and I feel safe, involved and positive.
Accompanied a friend who was having dental work carried out on 23rd floor Guys Hospital. They carry out emergency dental surgery and referrals from dentists that aren't able to give sedation.nAmazing views of London from up there.
Very, very long queue for all events King's College London Health & Life Science Undergraduate Open day 10 July 2026.
If you happen to get sick anywhere in the country, and you're able to drive, hike or crawl to Guys Hospital, do.nnI generally have a terrible time with doctors. Ignored, endlessly rescheduled and messed about. I have produced kidney stones for 18 years and I have been mostly left to deal with it alone without pain relief or investigation into why I'm making them.nnWhen I was passing another stone a few years ago they sorted it via a massive ultrasound machine that blasted the stone, told me exactly what it's made of and gave me a simple diet change which has stopped me making any more stones. All very quick, clear and professional. They are still giving regular checks to make sure I'm ok.nnI just arrived, received an x-ray and am waiting to see the doctor to discuss, and my wife downstairs hadn't finished her tea yet.nnI have had the unfortunate distinction of visiting a lot of hospitals due to my stones, and there is none I have seen anything like Guys.
As hospitals go my appointments have been over time, but definitely improved since they got rid of the defunct svl group. The new transport now incorporating black taxis is superb.myou actually get there on time and even get home at a decent hour. So well done GSTT so credit to hospital staff from porters to clinicians. FInding this place by car is literally like coming through a maze. Maybe that's why it's based in Maze Pond Rd. Irony I love it. ALL of the departments are fitted in the huge towers and if you are frail, disabled or elderly use patient transport and they will cart you round to department appointments via a vibrant porter service. The transport lounge also provide you with teas and coffees for free. If you want to go upmarket there is a vending machine run by pelican rouge worth the extra fir a decent cup inc hot chocolate. The staff are lovely, polite and very helpful so can't fault them. There is a small Marks on site if the hospital cafeteria doesn't appeal. There are a few dotted around so not too bad. There is disabled parking in front of hospital about 10 spaces but you need to get in early. Cancer Unit is large and new build probably made to properly accommodate patients so well done. Buses on main routes only nothing specific to hospital. Same for tube a bit of a trek but good for those monitoring their daily steps, sadly not me as I am now a meaningless meme 6/7.
