Amazing tiny Korean establishment in Edinburgh. Been there multiple times as a student and its pork ribs never fail to amaze me each time. The broth has always been AMAZING and it’s a must try however please choose the spiciness level carefully. The set meals do come with a few starter dishes which were delectable and tasteful as well. It’s a must try restaurant in Edinburgh. Given it’s popularity, one must be aware that there might be a significant waiting time as well.
Outstanding! Been wanting to go here for ages and the 15 min queue outside was so worth it. All the staff where super friendly, food was served quick and was absolutely delicious! The pork ribs were plentiful and tasty and my friends Seafood dish was a great portion and well flavoured. Go join the queue, it's worth the wait!
The pork ribs were too good! I found it to be a bit sweet but it's extremely flavourful and the meat was perfect. It also comes with a bowl of rice - a great combo! Pictures of what I had ordered and how I managed to eat the entire bowl! Would definitely recommend pork ribs. Also, thank you to the girl who waited on us and thoroughly explained the items on the menu Personally, quantity-wise.. the entire dish was good enough for me. Didn't need to order starters.
Pros: Korean cuisine paradise. One of the best Korean cuisine in Edinburgh in my opinion. Cons: Please check their website about open and closure, my friends went there and realize later that it’s closed for holidays. No reservation, only walk-in and all attendees need to be present in order to get the table so better be on time ⏰. The queue can be exhaustingly long so please make plan before visiting
Uber driver dropped us at the wrong destination. We saw this restaurant about to open and a Michelin signboard right in front of the glassdoor. Quickly we was told to form a queue before bunch of people jumped in as well lucky us, we’re the first in line £14 meals, good deal especially it has been awarded Michelin before. Though we were first in queue, our order came almost the last ‍ No idea what took them so long. Even the third group was done eating. Complimentary small side dishes is decent enough
Was waiting to visit here for a while as many friends recommended it. Also as I was told it's always packed, and we waited outside for the table for about 40 minutes after arriving around 6pm on Friday, so be prepared for that Food was great, we had pajeon and beef bibimbap. Loved cute side dishes that come before the meal as well!
I had pork rib stew, and I chose the spicy one. It was so yummy. The ribs were soft and sweet but still spicy. But kimchi jigae was too sour. And the staff are lovely.Recommended dishesPork Rib Stew
We walked past Kim's Mini Meals accidentally and were standing outside for a few minutes pondering the menu, peeking inside and checking Google. We weren't quite sure whether we wanted to go inside we actually had made reservations for a different place later that night, when one of the super friendly waitresses stepped outside and asked us if we were looking for a table and we just said yes. In hindsight we were probably pretty lucky, apparently it's not unusual to wait outside for a fair amount of time - there are not a lot of tables. I generally avoid eating meat, but I read so many good reviews about the pork ribs that I decided to give them a go. And they were fantastic - they do, literally, slide off the bone almost by themselves. I have not seen this in a good long time, you usually have to gnaw them in all but the very best BBQ restaurants. Just beware that they are cooked, not smoked. My wife has the fried undon noodles with tofu and she was also super happy with her choice. The waitresses deserve a special mention, they were extremely kind and forthcoming - sometimes this comes across as being a little phony, but definitely not here. Two thumbs up from us! As for the atmosphere, it is very down to earth and unpretentious in the best kind of way. This is not a posh place. The meals were 14 pounds each including a small appetizer, which is out of this world value for money if you ask me. And finally a small word of advice: "spicy" definitely means spicy. I ordered "medium" and that was perfect for me I do like spicy food!. Only pick that option if you know what you are getting yourself into .
It was so worth the wait! The food was amazing and the staff was genuinely nice! Hats off to the 2 lovely chefs mother and son!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Been here many times over the past few years. The pork ribs never disappoint — the broth is extremely rich and the meat slides off the bone. The sundubu jjigae soft tofu stew and japchae are fantastic too. Portions are generous on the whole, great for sharing. Definitely worth coming early if you want to avoid the long queue. The perfect meal out on a cold evening. A side note on the service — I wonder if they’ve recently changed the restaurant management? The lady who served us apologised a number of times while explaining the owner’s ordering rules min. 1 dish per pax, with a tone that suggested she thought it inconvenient / slightly unreasonable. My guests and I felt she shouldn’t have done that, though, especially as service staff. Moreover, as patrons, we’re happy to and should indeed abide by the rules of the owner. Apart from that, everything was excellent.
