Huge place. Loads of things to do. Water activities. Horse riding. Wild bird displays. Bike trails last & not least walk trails. Lots of outdoor fun to have. Bar, cafe & restaurant all with very helpful staff.

Great place to take the kids for a trip out and some themed fun. We went to do the 'Highway Rat' woodland walk and it's really well set up and fun for kids off all ages. We parked up at Kielder Castle and walked from there, it's a beautiful part of the world and well cared for with a variety of activities for all ages.

Beautiful place cold but clear, stunning skies. Unfortunately arrived the weekend after the ferry and cafe finished for winter, so a 5 mile walk for lunch and coffee turned into an 11 mile trek with no coffee! Would love to return with bikes and get round the whole lake.

I love this place. It is certainly a place of outstanding natural beauty! There are a lot of activities to choose from.. My activity of choice ia cycling around the reservoir using the friendly cycle renting shop The Bike Place. Details are available online but make sure to book the cycles in advance during peak times to avoid disappointment. If you take a steady pace, the terrain will allow you to complete the full loop in around 5 hours including a short food stop. Parking is available near said shop relatively cheap. 5 stars is not enough for Kielder and the tourist facilities it provides!

Lovely relaxing walks through the woods and around during the lake. Then spend the evening looking at the stars from the observatory. Great day.
