This is without question, the best bird place we have ever been to (inc. The Scottish owl centre) The passion and knowledge instilled in the staff here shines through, and I personally find that very inspiring! Thanks for all that you do - Louise and Abi

the staff here are fantastic. you can tell how much they love these birds. me and my kids love it here , if you can catch one of the flying displays, even better.

Visited recently with my Son who is obsessed with peregrine falcons as a special treat. The centre is quite remote and effectively just off the car park of the bigger visitors centre for the lake. Its a lot smaller than I expected and can easily be walked round in about half an hour. There are a lot of birds to see which all have an information board showing interesting information about them. However, they are mainly kept tied up in small shed like enclosures. There are displays where the birds are flown but this is dependent on good weather. Sadly we visited on a wet windy day, not unusual for the time of year, so it was too windy to fly most of the birds. They did get an owl out and a pelican which was interesting but no substitute for the bigger birds. The staff are clearly very knowledgeable about the birds. There is a very small shop selling mainly cheap toys, chocolate and some hot drinks. However the main facilities are in the visitors centre, including toilets. In terms of price it is quite expensive for what It is, about £21 for a family. I think it is somewhere worth visiting only when the weather is good enough for the bigger birds to fly.

Fantastic place to visit. The information you are given is tremendous. There is nothing you could ask about birds of prey that these guys don't know. I watched as the staff worked with a group of blind people who were on a day visit and every one of them was given the opportunity to touch and hold the birds. The staff are excellent and the variety of birds is unbelievable. They also do flying displays if the weather permits but the talks and meet the birds are also excellent. If you are staying on site then this is a must visit. If you are passing by then you must also go in and have a look. Great for the birdwatcher and non birdwatcher. A fantastic opportunity to learn about these birds and also get up close with them.
