This airport has been closed for years. Do not come here expecting to see planes. The site is due to be developed for mixed use.

A property developer bought this site hoping to build more massive housing estates and is waiting for planning permission. The same thing happened with an awful decision to close the small coastal airport outside Ipswich in Suffolk. ....Manston airport should be re-opened and used for international passenger flights. Manston Airport is a perfect location for flight paths that interrupt far less people. Even if this airport was developed for European flights only it would be benefit everyone and can connect to the train lines to London.   Todays decision to build a third run way at Heathrow is simply a horrid mistake for the long suffering residents of West London. The under nourished county of Kent needs employment opportunities and a new airport can provide this.
