Bought a gorgeous foxglove. I would have liked to buy a fern as well but the ones they had on offer weren't that impressive and unfortunately due to a thunder storm their power had been knocked out which meant they could only take cash.
Small garden centre presumably providing a useful local service. But don't trust the website and it's not worth travelling far to visit this place. I've just wasted a whole afternoon as I drove there specially to buy two specific plants which were listed on their website as available. However, they were not in fact in stock, no similar varieties were in stock and the guy I spoke to didn't even seem to know what they were when I gave him the scientific names.
Lovely Garden Centre, Italian Cafe and Restaurant next to it. Apparently they provided plants for 12 of the Chelsea Show Gardens. National breeders of peony's. Prices - vary from usual Garden Centre to quite expensive. Bargains to be had. I bought some interesting seeds that I've not seen elsewhere including wild garlic and wild strawberries. Accessibility - good for all areas. Car Park - free Toilets - basic, but free and clean. No emergency alarm in the disabled loo.
Visited again today and again was very pleased with the quality of the plants, the relaxed atmosphere and the space, at present the till is contactless and outside The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable.

Because of Kelways' association with RHS flower shows, I thought, "How can I go wrong buying from them?" Wrong. I bought peonies Mr Hemerik and Tom Eckhardt and Bowl of Beauty from them. The tops of the plants can be seen below. Some with buds underneath near the soil level. I wasn't happy with them, especially Mr Hemerik. I complained and they coaxed me to wait. Two months down the road, they are worse. So I sent in a Sales of good acts letter and got refunded £9. All these online companies selling you dry straws or rhizomes with diseased tops and yet I had the romantic visions of seeing them flower as shown in RHS flower shows. Please compare the first two photos with the one I bought from Taylor bulbs stockist - the bowl of beauty which I bought 3 weeks ago. If you want anything, go to Taylors and find their stockist. No point paying through your nose and be a let-down snob!
Just taken delivery of a container rose. Excellent plant, and probably the best packaging I've seen in a very long time to make sure it arrived in peak condition. Thanks very much for that extra attention to detail - very happy customer!
Popped in for some compost but all sold out of what I needed. Never mind, had coffee and a piece of delicious cake in the refurbished Corks cafe instead!
