Took our dog here for the first time for his arthritis. He was unsure at first but then settled with a few breaks out the water. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend. Will be taking our dog back again.
Went for our first swim yesterday. They're lovely and Maggie enjoyed it I think!, they took it easy with her and give her plenty of breaks and support. Looking forward to our next swim.
Fantastic place, fantastic people. My dog suffers from HD and swimming has totally improved his condition. The staff at the centre are professional, friendly and always have lots of time for us, cant praise them or the centre highly enough. They make a decent cuppa too. I recommend you try it whether for fun or therapy as the dogs love it here. Thanks
I had the misfortune for one of my Border Terriers to go off both rear legs. After cage rest my vet suggested hydrotherapy and mention this business I went for a pre swim visit and found the staff friendly helpful and for my purpose knowledgeable Taking Rosie for first swim was a positive experience she had a swim aid and was guided with care by the team, I found the experience so positive that Atchie now joins her though he is healthy. Perhaps the set up may be on the basic side but so what! They care and help an excellent quality for someone we trust our loved pets with Recommended by me caring friendly environment ++
It was our dogs first time for a swim. They have a very relaxed atmosphere and the dog settled nicely. I would recommend it any dog owners that want their dogs use to water.
Always take our dog to get washed here, always do a great job and there's not too much of a wait unless they're busy. Not costly. Nice little scent sprays which they put on after too
Unfortunately I can't say anything positive about the centre for hydrotherapy purposes. Fine if you just want a short fun swim for your dog who is already a swimmer but that's about it. I find it very concerning that they are not qualified in hydrotherapy nor are they member of an association which regulates the industry and sets a strict code of conduct. Dogs do not wear any safety harnesses or life jackets as standard and nobody is in the pool with them. Poles are used to force dogs to swim around and the pool itself is too small and thus causes the dogs to constantly be bending to go round in a circle. This is not good for any sort of rehab work as it puts the dogs out of alignment. There are high levels of stress in dogs who are being forced to swim with very little sign of gentle encouragement and positive reinforcement. No vet referral is required as is the standard procedure for any professional referral service. All of these points go against the ethics of organisations like the Canine Hydrotherapy Association. Other points noted: there does not appear to be a safe way for dogs to enter or exit the pool. The dryer used is very powerful and a very likely source of stress for many dogs. A few small changes to procedures and a restricted list of services offered could make all the difference and ensure the dogs under the care of the centre were safe and stress free. I would be very happy to see this happen. Joanne Drysdale - BSc Animal Care & FdSc Canine Behaviour & Training
Mike and his team are friendly, knowledgable and really work well with the dogs. My rocky has hip dysplasia and since coming here has been declared clinically sound. Can't praise them enough!
Great place for your dog! Always welcoming. Staff are lovely with my dog who is reactive.
My 4 dogs love their swimming and K9 is the place for us. They are much fitter and happy. Mike and team can't do enough for the dogs
