I recommend this family pub to all my guests. Just a short drive from Pembroke with a large beer garden over looking the estuary with breathtaking sunsets. Children’s play area and plenty of seating outdoors.
Great pub with fantastic views over the Cleddau Estuary. Wide range of food available on the menu plus daily specials. The portions are generous! Recommend booking as very popular.
What a lovely location looking over the river Cleddau. Now let's talk about the lasagna. To quote my brother in law, "it's as good as mine". Which may not mean anything to any of you on here, but you haven't had to sit through years of "not as good as mine" conversations in restaurants. The fish and chips was very tasty with a good, thick cut of battered fish used and proper homemade chips. The place is well ventilated and although it was hot outside, inside was nice and cool. I shall return.
Food was lovely, good sized portions and didn't have to wait long for courses. Staff were friendly and even though they seemed short staffed, all were smiling and attentive. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy, all tables were cleared quickly too. Would definitely recommend!
Jolly Sailor - Pub food that used to be! If all the restaurants were like them their business would be booming. Food was outstanding & portions were generous , service was amazing, the view is beautiful. Can't ask for more! When we arrived the place was full but the lady still made an effort to find a suitable time and table for us. Even though it was busy, the food didn't delay, the amount and quality of food was amazing. I noticed some of the staff being young, yet trained really well and they all have the perfect manner. These days all of these qualities in a pub / restaurant are quite rare. The only disadvantage is they are far from where we live! : Also, thank you for letting our boy to borrow a bucket and giving him bait for crab fishing, the day after our visit, you made his day! If you are in the area go without hesitation book before you go as it is quite popular you will see that these people really try for their business. Keep up the good work Jolly Sailor x
Outstanding service and food, can't wait to go back. *edit* we've been back since, and not sure what has happened. We sat in the marquee, do not sit in there at any cost, just go somewhere else, it's awful, cold and uncomfortable. Food also not as good on this occasion.
Each time we went it has been very good. The food was lovely and the staff very polite and friendly. It it best to book well in advance as they get super busy. The small plates are more than plentiful. Everything was cooked and presented perfectly.Food: 5/5
The staff are friendly and helpful. The place was lovely and clean. The meals were really delicious and we all ate everything. Great potions they are huge, I went for the small meal steak, sweet potato fries and veg and it was still quite big but loved everything it was tasty. We all had desserts they were excellent to. Would definitely call again once I come back to Wales for a holiday. The view is amazing out of the huge windows. Definitely recommend
Brilliant location, amazing views. Didn't have food, just a drink. We sat outside and our waiter was a nice young lad. He was very helpful as we were looking for accommodation for the following day
No doubt about it, this is a popular spot for a good reason. The Sunday dinners take a lot of beating. Plenty of tasty, fresh and well cooked veg. Plenty of gravy. Good portion of meat, although on a few occasions now we've had inconsistent meat portions on the same meal... even so, you won't leave hungry. Nice location, especially in the summer. Although we've been seated out in the marquee a few times on garden benches which hasn't been ideal for comfort or getting little ones close enough to the table. Waiting staff are always willing, polite and helpful but could attend the table to refresh drinks. My biggest gripe is the price of a pint in here... also the puddings... you're looking at near £7 each and that's too much for what they are. Plenty of parking. Nice having the kids play area.. and the beach albeit stoney at the bottom of the beer garden. Overall though, a good meal out. I'm sure we'll go back again and again.
