I took a £200 silk dress to this branch to be dry cleaned. The label clearly stated "specialist dry clean only" and also "100% silk". Firstly, I was charged for the dry clean of an evening dress. I did point out that it was a silk dress, and they said ok. When I collected it I was in a rush, but when I got home I noticed that it had black stains on it, where there were previously no marks. It looked like they smeared bike chain lubricant on it. They clearly used the wrong solvent in the cleaning process. I rang them almost crying, asking for the situation to be remedied. I just wanted to bring the dress back, to actually have it cleaned, as the service stated. I was confronted by an aggressive manager, after being interrupted by the very rude staff, saying "you signed for the garment when you collected it, and when you left it with us". The manager was also untrained in how to deal with customers, and was very rude too, and dismissive. I was not trying to get a compensation, but just to have the dress cleaned. In addition, at collection, they called it a chiffon dress. I cannot believe how unprofessional and incompetent the staff were. Sadly, the reviews of Johnson's around the city centre seem to be consistent.
Very quick service though.

Had a badly damaged coat repaired and laundered for £18, was decent turn around and folded nearly in convenient bag. Staff weren't that cheerful to say the least, which makes an odd atmosphere and awkward for customers. Basic hello, thankyou , goodbye rule of customer service...

I just moved to the neighborhood so I didn't know of any dry cleaners but wanted to clean almost all my stuff. I went here because I read bad reviews about a nearby dry cleaner. It was a massive mistake. They ruined two sweaters I really liked. One was a wool cashmere sweater dress that was irreplaceable and I had for years. Both came back with tons of pills and looked like old rags. They were unwearable. The manager blagged her way into me just leaving with the issue unresolved. She said the sweaters came like that which was untrue because I wore them frequently and would've noticed. I got the pill remover machine and they still look old and worn out. I know I just seem like some random reviewer but it has a bad reputation as well that I did not know about because I just moved to the neighborhood. I just wish I could have my sweaters back to normal and don't want it to happen to anyone else.
