The first Olympic sized ice-rink in the country. Free parking with accessible spaces, entrance & loos. Offering public sessions, skating schools, skiing stuff, snack bar (excellent hot chocolate) and so on. However, the whole place could do with a serious make over maintenance session as it is getting rather tired and worn. It is very popular.

Most importantly the staff are friendly and helpful. The place is also value for money (more so if you have a groupon voucher) in terms of activities and facilities on offer. Decent sized ice rink. The place looks to have potential (or once looked great), just needs a good refurbishment and reinvestment (exterior and interior) - the place would be a great hit if they did so; the location is ideal and convenient from the motorway. Tip: look for a groupon offer, bring change for lockers, they accept card for payment at reception.

Paid for my family and I to attend the ice rink in the Easter holidays. Reception staff were inattentive and too busy chatting amongst themselves although I expressed I was new to the area and facilities. Didn’t have a clue where to go to hire Ice skates as staff were unhelpful, was left walking around aimlessly with 3 kids. After getting all 3 children in ice boots and on the ice only had about 30 mins skate time before told to leave the ice! Reception staff took my money but failed to inform me the public skate was closing soon! 3 young children were left very upset and disappointed.Tried to dispute this with reception staff afterwards and they declined any refund and told me to contact their manager. Nearly 2 weeks later and I still can’t get hold of manager ‘Bernadette Howard’ by email or phone. Nor has she called back after leaving messages with staff. Now looking to dispute this case with my bank to get a refund for this shoddy service. Overall an appalling service, disgusting management care and the centre itself is run down, old and disheveled. Ruined my kids day. Avoid!

Great big rink, nice counter staff. Needs a good paint. One of the coaches is really rude and aggressive.

Main slope almost totally disintegrated, can't turn on a completely knackered snowboard. But, hey, my kid enjoyed skiing. Will be back as a spectator, watching him and his mate. Good value at £10 ISH each.
