Story

John Newman started his hairdressing career in 1972 and celebrated his own 40 years in Hairdressing in 2012. John’s father, Derek, was a barber as was his father, Ted, before him, who started a hair salon in Rothwell in 1922. John is now the third generation of hairdressers in Rothwell and has built up an enviable reputation for service, quality, staff training and a state of the art salon which is fully air-conditioned and has free wi-fi available. Newmans’ Hairdressing has been part of Rothwells’ community for more than 90 years.


John has been recognised for his training excellence by being awarded ‘Employer of the Year 2006’ for both Northamptonshire and the East Midlands by the Learning Skills Council.


Today, John Newman Hairdressing & Beauty aims to provide you with outstanding hairdressing in a fantastic contemporary London designed and inspired Salon, offering the latest in technical excellence. JNH&B wants to ensure that your appointment is not just a haircut but an experience. The refurbishment of the salons 3 floors offers space for relaxation, comprehensive drinks menu including fresh bean to cup coffee and the electric footrests. Ritual Kerastase treatments add a luxurious addition to the impeccable service and elegance of JNH&B.


JNH&B offers a team of highly qualified stylists. Our staff attend regular training sessions to ensure their techniques are at the forefront of the latest trends in cutting, colouring, creative styling and beauty techniques. We offer a free consultation service; this can be advice on anything from products, colour, cut or a complete new look and beauty advice. We are well known in the area for our colour correction results and our expertise in this field is well recognised.
