Story

Hi,John hear @ JMs ,just want to give you all an update on what's new .First of all we now are the proud owners of DELICIA PIZZA .Delicia used to operate from just over the road from JMs,and operated from their for over 20 years!,All the equipment for making pizzas is now installed into the kitchens @ JMs and after some great tuition from Steve, the previous owner, on making pizzas , I started making fresh pizza dough by myself. Firstly ,all was going well then for some strange reason the dough I was making was not to the high standards that Steve had set . I set about researching everything I could from every possible avenue & things started to change. I felt more confident in the process I was doing and to anyone who does any baking will know when you get in the groove everything just falls into place, feels good ,and you know what they say the proof of the pudding is in the eating.At this time I decided to get FEEDBACK from our customers.We now send a feedback form with each delivery order & this will hopefully keep me in touch and allow me to get a feel for what you all want from JMs DELICIA. The completed returned forms go into a prize draw and we will be giving the winner a £10 VOUCHER every week. Now thats what I call WIN WIN.. As you can see we have increased our opening hours to suit the pizza side of things but the fryers stay on ,so you can have FISH &CHIPS as well as PIZZAS Thursday night to 10.pm Friday & SATURDAY night to 11.pm .and SUNDAYS to 10 .pm. Yes, thats right, you can now get fish & chips as well as pizzas in Retford on a Sunday,now that's what I call WIN WIN. Being open of a Sunday gave us the opportunity to have a BIKE NIGHT for all you bikers to call in, get together and talk bikes plus get some great nosh too !!There's a large car park for all to use. Hope to see you all soon.

We were in desperate need of somewhere to eat after visiting the Theatre for a look round - probably 7.30 ish. So, right next to the carpark we found this little fish & chip restaurant. Brilliant food, great coffee, brilliant young woman serving us. Priced just right. We were the only ones in the restaurant side - hence a medium 'atmosphere ' rating, otherwise a great place. Clean, welcoming, and grand food.
A Great sit down fish and chip Restaurant, there's take away too. Fine food is all cooked to order and it's really tasty !

I live in the US and these kind people have delivered fish and chips to my Mum and Dad every week now for over a year. I just heard they are retiring. Makes me sad and happy at the same time.

We moved to the area a while ago and we have struggled to find good fish and chips. Delighted to report the struggle is over! Ordered for collection and all was ready on time. The fish was excellent with wonderfully crispy batter and the chips were delish. The best thing was the lack of grease which we hadn't been able to find til now. JM's is worth the small extra distance and will now be our regular chippy :

Takeaway: Visited JM's as we were passing through the town centre. I had quite high hopes for this restaurant as it comes up as being a top rated one in the area, now I will say it is a decent place for your fish and chips craving but I wouldn't say the best. I had a few reservations that would make me hesitant visiting again. 1 There doesn't appear to be a "meal deal for one" on any of the menus, this wasn't an issue as I was purchasing for my partner and I, however if she didn't want the standard meal but I did there did not appear to be any way to fullfil this. The only options were for 2, 3 or 4 people to get any form of manageable portions instead of having to purchase large chips, fish and sides separately which from a quick calculation appeared to be 20% more expensive than a simple half the "meal for 2" 2 The service was a bit "off" perhaps they were having a bad shift but they only appeared to want customers in the restaurant, not wanting takeaway and as a result, only using the takeaway service for quick cadh. Our order was taken without much of a word, cash was given and we were asked "do you want change" which would have been about £8 from the £20 I had given... That would have been a 40% tip. 3 Got home, opened up to find the fish had been smashed into the box with quite a soggy batter due to excess oil. However the fish itself was quite nice. Good points: 1 Better gravy than West Carr road voted Retford's best 2 Quite cheap in comparison to others in the town center 3 Offers inside dining
ordered on just eat, i understand there is a lack of delivery drivers so i won’t put 1star. I waited an hour for my delivery, i called 10 minutes before it arrived and asked if it had been sent- they said ‘no it is just cooking now’. It came stone cold, and unfortunately none of the meal had any flavour, definitely wouldn’t come again
