Delicious poached eggs, good coffee, fast service , fair prices, relaxing atmosphere.. The ladies working in the café were very lovely and accomodating.
Interesting. Seems to be a consensus re the service. I went in here at lunchtime. Was near empty, and empty of staff, had to peek in the kitchen to find someone. Was then presented with rather frosty service throughout, although the second lady who appeared did thank me as I left. My sandwich, pie and cake came to near £7 to takeaway. To put into context, the cost of two meal deals from the shop up the road. The pie was fantastic, the cake dreadful, and the sandwich had an odd aftertaste which I hid with mayonnaise when I got home. Definitely wouldn't go back. Good service is key in a local cafe and it was non existent here. Food quality is also not there. Basic food has to hit the taste buds first time. Pie was great though. Way overpriced, especially with so much competition. Yorkshire folk are notoriously tight.
Twenty minutes before closing time, we thought we'd go in for a coffee, only to be firstly totally ignored then frostily told they were closing. There was only one more couple in the café, so hardly rushed off their feet. Fortunately we found another cafe close by, which was doing a good trade and our needs were met. At ten minutes before their closing time, a family of four arrived and ordered pizzas. They had their order taken without any hesitation. We know where we will eat and next time in Baildon.
Just been the Jessie's Cafe and had a Hot Latte, very lovelly and was perfectly made, had to wait a while after ordering. Also had a piece of chocolate cake, and it was lovelly... So much so I grabbed sole Carmel Chocolate slices to take out this was really nice aswell. They had a busy Saturday, and everyone was less disappointed as they had run out of nearly everything on the menu.
Love my bacon, mushroom and tomato sandwich from Jessie’s. Always fresh and tasty, unlike other places where the bacon has tasted fishy, Hubby likes his bacon and sausage with brown sauce. They always use spreadable butter and proper sauces not the cheap copies. Orders are always ready to collect in 10 minutes, when sandwiches are this good Id rather order than make my own! Keep up the good work. xxx
Not a local and was passing. Must start by saying I had a lovely sandwich and the coffee hit the spot. I was just a bit disappointed with the service. All the tables were covered in plates and needed a wipe down. I was surprised that the two staff on duty were more interested in nattering to people other than cleaning up. I ordered and presumed that my table would get clean before my food turned up. But no gossip seemed to be the order of the day. Disappointed
You can always guarantee great tasting food and friendly service at Jessie's. The view of Baildon Roundabout is great to watch the world go by.
Fab wee cafe. We had two delicious paninis, drinks and a cake to take away for under £15! Also so helpful with ingredients and making something up from scratch to accommodate allergies
Oh dear, what a let-down. I was served a decent coffee in a cup and saucer. When I pointed out that the saucer was badly chipped I was told: "it's ok, you don't drink out of the saucer." Not been back since.
Nicely situated in Baildon village, but it's let down by the fact they use margarine on the bread and toast, it would make such a difference if they used butter, staff generally friendly but sometimes can be a bit of hand when busy.
