Jessie's Kitchen

Story

Award-winning family-run cafe with gifts for sale, farmshop, florist and garden centre, plus gorgeous views over the river Tay to Fife.
Jessie's is set over three elegant rooms (one with a large toy cupboard for children) in a beautiful Victorian jute Baron's mansion. With lovingly-restored original features and quirkily cool decor, Jessie's serves delicious breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas featuring fresh, local produce. There's also a spectacular selection of home-made cakes (also available for private order) and scones along with expertly-prepared Matthew Algie coffee and teas. Menu highlights include the Big Jessie breakfast, including tattie scone, roast cherry tomatoes and Scott Brothers' Stornoway black pudding and the fabulously fresh and varied selection of salads served with lunches. There's a dog-friendly outdoor seating area for sunny days, plus plenty of parking space. No longer 'Broughty Ferry's best-kept secret!' (as Jessie's has been called in the past!), find us here...

One of my favourite places to go for a special cup of tea and slice of cake. Jessie's Kitchen is a lovely, cozy place brimming with character. Their food is always yummy and their cakes are downright sinful. The folks who work here are always lovely and helpful.

Overpriced. Seated promptly on arrival. Coffee was nice. Didn't receive our soup we paid for. Cakes looked lovely although the waitress didn't return to take our order so we left for the lovely sunshine instead.

Very nice cafe set in a lovely mansion in its own grounds with garden centre attached. Plenty of free parking. Couldn’t see a reservation option online but they did seem to expect it and it may be you could ask for one of the few tables with a garden view. Wooden chairs didn’t suggest they wanted you to overstay your welcome. Lots of savoury options for lunch We had a selection of sandwich’s soup and mezze all were good the only thing that went back on the plate was the ‘Christmas salad’ because even sprinkling stuffing over cold Brussels sprouts doesn’t make them attractive. Cakes were as expected very nice and very generous portions almost to much in the case of the blueberry and whit chocolate gateaux which was surprisingly heavy and filling. Teas and coffee choices very good. Also nice Christmas stuff available in the hall and garden centre.

Just want to say a huge thank you to the lovely assistant who made my cake that extra but special when I mentioned it was my birthday! Only been a few times but the food and service is always amazing, can't wait to go back and try more cakes xxx

Was very disappointed in the menu change! Now visit once a month and was very disappointed to see the chicken/bacon/cheese and smoked mayonaise filling was off the menu. Have this every time its amazing, had an alternative today but was not the same.
