Beautiful countryside around Jedburgh. Small town. Some steep banks. Friendly people. Woolen Mill outlet a short drive away for a cuppa and shopping. Kelso not too far away.

I am always thrilled to see these relics of the past. Remnants that have survived and are on show for us. Note: the Abbey is closed pretty Mich in winter but you can see it through the gates and from the slope on the way into the car park. There is a tea room nearby too, so after your visit you can sit and have a cuppa overlooking a bit of history. It is a ruin, so no glass or fancy wood carvings, but it is impressive none the less. If you like your photos try getting there late morning in winter, or early evening for some good shots. Enjoy your visit.

Of the 6 Abbey's I visited in Scotland, this was definitely in the best shape. Had amazing archway details, and some interesting things they had found inside visitor center. Jedburgh is a must see town.

Worth a visit. It is very cool Abbey that let's you walk and touch pretty much all of the ruins of the Abbey. It is an amazing. Also if you have time, walk around the little main Street of the town. There are many little shops and food places to grab a quick bite to eat. Other than the Abbey though, there is not much else to see. We did visit the Mary Queen of Scotts museum, however it was not too interesting to me.

Great stop to walk the dog. They do however want 30p to use the toilets! There are lots of bushes though.....
