We visited this pub/resturant at lunchtime while we were on holiday during the October school holidays.nIt was very busy & I had to clear the plates & glasses from our tables myself & I asked a member of staff to wipe our tables over but I ended up doing it myself because they were so busy.nThe food was nice & came out fairly quickly but we had to ask twice for our coffee cups to be given to us so we could have our coffees.nThe pub was pleasant though & the service probably would have been better if it wasn't a busy lunchtime in the school holidays.
Nice little spoons with the unusual addition of the Hotel on the side. I didn't use the hotel, just the pub itself. The food can be a little slow, but the presentation and quality was on the button. Nice staff, comfortable and clean pub. A nice place for dinner or a few drinks.
What a great value hotel!nThe rooms are very nicely decorated and modern, with heating and air conditioning.nnThe showers are hot with food pressure.nThe beds are comfortable.nnThere's no breakfast included, but with spoons downstairs that's hardly a problem. The rooms do include bottled water, and free tea and coffee from the downstairs machines which is a nice touch!
Was absolute carnage. EVERY table that wasn't occupied was completely covered in plates, glasses and condiments. The whole place was a mess. Glass wash area and end of bar covered in glasses. Staff seemed to have to no urgency about them. I cleared and wiped our own table, even though the male member of staff did offer to follow me and wipe it when I requested the cloth. But I politely declined and said I think you have bigger issues in your hands and indicated to the tables and mess he was about to walk past. Didn't stay in the hotel /rooms but the public toilets were very nice and the cleanest place in the pub
The food is really nice I love the steak but last time I went it was removed from the menu. The location is awful if you sit outside or near a door all you can hear is the bus station next door. Otherwise a pretty good place to have dinner
