To put one star is generous for this place. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by rude employees, the politest thing was the dirty tables everywhere. Me and my friend went outside but she had brought an ice cream with her because it was very hot 28 degrees and she wanted to cool down. As soon as we walked in we saw a child vaping, not over the age of 13. Multiple people were smoking around children despite there being no smoking signs on tables? I brought this up with a member of staff, however this is ok, but my friends ice cream isn’t so we must leave. Makes no sense? I had already paid for my food and I was told she would try and get a refund. When she couldn’t, she come back with the ice cream and said “you have to leave immediately after this”. So I had to go straight away, leaving me no room to let my food go down which made me sick after. One of my friends was also ID’d for a beef burger, she had no drink with this. Just the burger?
Been in the pub four times on our holiday. Each time the food was very good, served in good time and good value. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and polite. Sadly tonight, Thursday whilst all I've said applies the place was very unclean, food all over the floor, tables not cleared for ages so people looking for tables had trouble finding anywhere. It made the whole experience unpleasant which is a shame.nI find it maddening that the owner of Wetherspoons won't allow dogs who in my experience generally sit under the table asleep and no one notices them, if they have responsible owners but it's ok to be surrounded by small children not sitting up at the table, running around, screeching and banging into other customers. Unlike responsible dog owners some parents, not all, seem to think their children are allowed to behave like this and generally be a nuisance to other customers.I know which I would prefer.
Had extremely poor customer service and overall experience at your pub during visits on 10th May and 15th May.nOn 10th May, I initially intended to eat at the pub but left disappointed due to the poor cleanliness and lack of organisation. Multiple tables were left uncleared with dirty dishes, and the overall environment appeared unmanaged, with no visible control of operations.nI returned again on 15th May expecting a better experience, particularly as the pub was quieter. My friends and I hoped to sit in one of the booth areas, however the only available booth had “Reserved” signs placed on it. As Wetherspoons generally does not reserve tables, we were confused and sat there, only to be informed by a member of staff that the booth was being used for interviews.nI found this very unprofessional and inappropriate given there appeared to be ample unused space upstairs, particularly considering the venue also has hotel facilities. Customers should not be prevented from using seating areas for operational matters when alternatives are clearly available.nMy friends and I then waited over 20 minutes for another booth to become available. Once seated, I had to ask a staff member to clean the table properly. Unfortunately, the cleaning was carried out to a very poor standard. The staff member simply removed the dirty dishes and briefly wiped a small section of the table. We ended up having to clean the table ourselves using antibacterial wipes that I carry with me.nTo make matters worse, shortly afterwards the “Reserved” signs on the original booth were removed and new customers who had only just entered the pub were seated there immediately. This was extremely frustrating after we had waited over 20 minutes ourselves.nThere were also issues with our food order placed through the Wetherspoons app. A member of staff approached us questioning whether there had been a mistake because my friend and I had placed identical orders separately on our own devices. We confirmed there was no duplicate order.nAlthough all drinks arrived, my friend’s food never did. I had to approach staff to query this, as my friend was understandably very upset and frustrated by this point. We were then asked for proof of purchase despite his drink already having arrived as part of the same order.nA member of staff later came to the table with receipts claiming no food order had been placed. My friend then showed the confirmation email clearly proving the order had gone through correctly. He was subsequently told he would need to wait a further 10 minutes for the food to be prepared.nWhen the food eventually arrived, there was no apology whatsoever despite the inconvenience and confusion being caused entirely by staff error. In fact, the same staff member who questioned the duplicate order earlier was involved throughout.nIn terms of the food itself, most items were acceptable, however the chicken bites were very poor quality and the beans were only lukewarm.nOverall, this was one of the worst experiences my friends and I have had at any Wetherspoons venue. The combination of poor cleanliness, disorganisation, inappropriate use of customer seating, poor communication, lack of apology, and issues with the ordering system left us extremely dissatisfied. As a result, we will not be returning to this pub in future.
I am very impressed with this hotel. The price was great and for the money we paid £66 the standard of the room far exceeded my expectations. The fixtures and fittings are of a high quality, the temperature was nice, and it is decorated nicely. The staff were more than helpful and were also friendly too. It is right in the town centre, so is in a good location, with a couple of car parks nearby. The only down side is that it is right next to the bus station, so can be a bit noisy with early buses leaving in the morning. It wasn't too much of an issue for us. I would definitely recommend, and I'm sure we will be back again.
Had breakfast here whilst on a trip to yarmouth. Was much bigger than I expected, was very busy and felt for the lady behind the bar and some were a little in patient. Breakfast was good and good value. Facilities were really good and immaculately clean.
