Waited just over 4 hours in A&E after 111 sending me there. Great staff very, very overstretched all doing 12 hour shifts. All lovely and reassuring. They are doing a great job. Numbers did not drop from 70 waiting all that time. Very fortunate to have a hospital only 15 mins away from home.
Visited A&E today, the children's department, after my six year old son was in an RTC. We arrived at 10.30, triage nurse that first took our details was really friendly and spoke directly to my son in a really kind way. We then went through to the children's A&E and had to wait 10 minutes before a lovely nurse called us through and took my son's temperature, heart rate etc. Back to the waiting room and called in by the doctor about 15 minutes lately, again a very nice man. Encountered about five staff members in the hour that we were there and all of them were kind, helpful and listened with understanding and all helped to make my son feel comfortable and safe after a scary experience!
This is difficult to say as my prior visit to the James Paget was absolutely tremendous with great help and advice from the staff. However, after going to A&E a few days ago, I waited 5 hours to sit in the chair for the Doctor to look me in the eyes and tell me my problem wasn’t serious. He didn’t even check up on me. He looked at notes, raised his voice at my mother. Told me there was nothing he could do, even when the kind nurses beforehand suggested he may give me anti nausea through the veins to prohibit it occurring again. I had informed him that I’d been dealing with this for over 5 years and this was the worse state it had ever been, and he said I had to go through my GP. I have been trying to get an appointment with my GP for months, and before covid when I did see them, they gave me absolutely nothing useful. I was devastated. He did absolutely nothing to help me, made me feel so unwelcome. I can only thank the kind nurse and other doctor who took my blood sample and temperature. They were lovely. If it wasn’t serious, why was I referred to my hospital through 111? Appalled. Appalled and disgusted.
I cannot thank Mr David Manson-Bahr team of excellent caring doctors there was absolutely fantastic. The nursing staff was just unbelievable they was caring and nothing was too much trouble. The non nursing staff secretaries porters there was absolutely excellent absolutely no complaints and the treatment was first class on my way now to full recovered thank you to these wonderful people
Absolutely disgusting service! I feel for every patient that has to go to hospital atm. I would advise not using this hospital if you have heart issues, use Norfolk & Norwich if you value your life although still slow they almost have everything to hand! Today I was left sitting for 2 hours with a suspected heart attack, chest pain, jaw pain etc, I was extremely tired and needed to lay down instead I just gave up the will to live waiting anymore and have left without seeing anyone, I told reception I was tired and unwell and need to rest and that I wanted to go home, she seriously couldn’t of cared any less, to top it off I had to pay £3 car park for the privilege of waiting for nothing. so I would advise not making your own way to make it easier for them and to get an ambulance every time no matter how big or small the issue is. Clearly this hospital is dysfunctional, patient priority is clearly none existent which is putting the patients at serious risk or death. The management and staff should be ashamed of themselves if they think this is acceptable!
Hour and a half away from home daughter broke her ankle staff from a&e to ward were helpful caring jolly and couldn't do enough. Even chased up ct scan. Found the hospital far better than our local
Cant even get an appointment to get our son checked out after he was discharged from hospital from high intensity care unit while on holiday abroad. Luckily it happened while abroad and he is still alive as clearly if he was at at home services from this hospital wouldnt been even quarterly as good. Pointless to have free care when everytime have to use private clinics
Reasonable waiting time for my severe ankle sprain, extremely good experience with X-rays technicians and great service overall. Considering the horrendous chronic understaffing of NHS I can say I'm satisfied by the care received.
After being referred here by 111, from the minute I arrived, I was treated with the most pristine care. I had a large abcess which needed treatment immediately and after an expected wait they have left me later in great condition, I have no pain and I'm feeling so much better. I couldn't possibly remember all the names of the people I saw but I can honestly say every single Nurse/Doctor etc was on perfect form. Very professional and very organized and totally thorough. I cannot thank you all enough for the help you have given me. All the best and thank you so much! Keep up the good work guys :
I was rushed into hospital after blood loss, every member of staff I delt with went above and beyond even though they were struggling with cutbacks, staff shortages, and being over worked. I cannot thank you enough for the work you do.
