I cannot speak highly enough of Gary and his team. I traveled from Australia to complete a double interment and had a limited time to arrange burial, title deed transfer, headstone inscription and headstone repairs. Gary followed this up during my whole 4 weeks in Scotland and organised the inscription within 2 weeks of the interment. Others could not do the work for up to 2 months due to the repairs also required. Gary ensured the headstone was cleaned and inscribed before I had to return home and has now completed the repairs. Phenomenal display of customer service, catering for my special requirements during a stressful period and giving me final closure. Would highly recommend and will forever be grateful. Thanks Gary
Great work from Gary. We had to find a way to add to a quite unique existing headstone. Gary expertly advised and gave a few options to ensure the new design matched perfectly. Very happy with result and definitely recommend the team for a professonal service.
Cannot recommend Gary highly enough- from the first point of contact I felt totally at ease and knew he would do a fantastic job for us. I certainly wasn’t disappointed- not only did he offer a few choices of wording layouts but he sourced a particular letter to match previous inscription- he went way above and beyond to achieve perfection with my dads headstone. Would highly recommend Gary as his attention to detail and professionalism is a rare quality and I cannot thank him enough.
The service provided by Gary was truly professional but also friendly, there was great communication & he really went above & beyond to please. I had a gravestone cleaned up & an inscription added. The work was carried out before the date specified & the craftsmanship is second to none. I cannot recommend Gary & his stonemason highly enough, they clearly take great pride in all they do.
We received a very professional and friendly service from Gary when making an addition to an existing headstone. The new name contained too many letters to fit across the existing stone so Gary sent us mock-ups of what different arrangements at reduced font would look like. We chose one and Gary took everything from there, applying to the local council for the necessary permissions and getting the stone cleaned and the old lettering repainted to match the new - a very courteous and hassle-free service from beginning to end.
I would like to thank Gary and his stonemasons for their outstanding work on my family's headstone. The headstone had been neglected since my father's burial in 1967, it was weather-beaten, inscription was faded etc. My mother passed away recently which gave me the opportunity to freshen up the headstone. I commissioned Gary to undertake the work. This included cleansing of headstone, reguilding existing wording and addition of both my brother and mother's details who are interred. Gary guided me through the whole process getting necessary documents required. A price was agreed which I found acceptable. There was no hidden charges. Overall a fantastic outcome, needed sunglasses when seen headstone at cemetery, it looks brand new. I totally recommend this company to carry out any stonework if required in the future. I contacted Gary regarding adding a new inscription to an existing headstone. He was exceptionally helpful and talked me through the process and afterward communicated by email. Always replying quickly. Unfortunately due to the lockdown it took longer than normal at the council with the paperwork but as soon as that was complete Gary arranged for the lettering to be done very quickly. The headstone looks great and now complete. Great service from Gary, thanks
Gary did a great job with everything to do with sorting out a new headstone. He dealt with everything from the deeds, the council, recommending the right size of stone and lettering through to the final installation. Couldn't recommend him highly enough. Attentive, understanding and never pushy.
My brother and I would like to thank James Hay Memorials for the excellent work carried out on our mum and dads headstone, it was cleaned and the lead lettering re-done, it now looks amazing. they also cleaned the two stone flower vases at the grave side, a lovely gesture as we hadn't thought about them. thank you so much Gary and your team. I have attached a before and after photo as well.
We originally contacted James Hay & Son in Falkirk with a view to altering an original headstone and also having it cleaned up. After talking to Gary and looking at all the options available we got a beautiful new headstone incorporating the original details and 2 new names. This looked so much better than what we had planned to do. It was ready in really quick time and done for Christmas which was brilliant as it meant we could take our Christmas wreath and see everyone remembered on the stone. The work has been done beautifully, an excellent finish and we couldn`t be more happy with it. Thanks to Gary for his help and advice and we would definitely recommend James Hay & Son in Falkirk.
