The best fish and chips in town. The fish Jacksons serve is the star of the show. Always deliciously fresh, chunky and flakey. Great choice of different sea food. Chips delicious as you'd expect of a good chippy. The pea fritter is worth a try from here too! Also caters well for vegetarians with options such as battered haloumi which isn't something usually offered by chip shops. Great place for takeaway or sit in.
We dined in here tonight. Last day of our holiday. It was Excellent food. I do not agree with any of the negative reviews. Fish was beautiful and the chips were lovely. Home made tartar sauce was to die for. We also had a pea fritter which was delicious. Highly recommend this chippy.
Certainly the best fish and chips in Newton-Abbot! Incredibly great fish, chips and everything aquatic in between! Great place where the meals are always piping hot and extremely fresh. The portions are generous as well, lending to a great return for your pounds. Highly recommended for a casual meal or a Friday night in door experience.
To be fair.... This was a last minute dinner option, and we googled it. Took a chance, and..... Loved it! Chips were great, and fish... Huge portions and perfectly batter cooked! Light crispy crunchy batter, and fantastic fresh fish. Kids loved the cod bites so much, they ended up fighting over who got more and who gets the last piece! Kid-friendliness: Kid meal options which, for little ones is perfect for two to share.
Gorgeous fish and chips! Amazing menu choices. We had the 'catch of the day' and got 2 different fish with it, Plaice and Coly. Service was quick even though they were busy. The batter was perfect. We will be back!Food: 5/5
My mum and I walked past this place and it looked very interesting as it has a fishmongers aswell as a chippy. We decided to book a table as we were told it gets very busy. We ordered fish,chips and mushy peas.what a great variety of fish . I chose cod,but there was monkfish,scallops and much more. It's the best fish and chips I've ever eaten. The young male who served us was really friendly as were the other members. I highly recommend this place. We were on holiday and visiting family .
Fast, friendly and efficient with a good choice of fish. Well done and not oily chips. All this even though we were late in the evening and they were just about to start there clean down. Definitely go back.
Everything cooked perfectly think it was Nicola, apologies if this is the incorrect name? Perspex screens are still in use which is great! All the staff were pleasant and attentive.Food: 5/5
Had cod and chips with a curry sauce. The batter was a bit wilted and greasy so not the crispy batter I was hoping for. The chips could of been crispy too but they were also a bit wilted and the curry sauce was small for the cost. It was my first time and felt the chippie up the road was better so maybe they were having an off day as they have good reviews. I expect better when paying around £13 for not even a large cod and chips with a sauce.
Me and my children had a delicious meal here on our holiday in Devon. The fish and chips were so fresh and the chips were the best we’ve ever had! The homemade tartare sauce was amazing! We will definitely be returning and recommending Jackson’s! You must go here! 10/10!
