VERY good !! As a HGV driver that come up from Plymouth that's over run with good chippy's. I stumbled across this place and I have to say it one of the best iv had. Beautiful, fresh and homemade. Everything is cooked in healthy oil - no palm oil - so guilt free! Delightful family run business, a true treasure in the community. The greatest chippy I've ever visited.

John the owner is a fantastic person. The fish and chips in my opinion are the best in UK. The food tastes great. I travel 88 miles round trip for this Chippy. This Chippy is my best kept secret. Well done John for being the best. My advice is you have tried the rest now try the best.
Chips were anaemic looking. Lots of brown/black bits in them. Fish was tasteless and watery. Batter was greasy. Awful. Worst that I have ever tasted. Will not go there again. However the manager/boss was very friendly, pleasant and welcoming.
Honestly the best chippy around. As someone who lives with lifelong illnesskidney failure this is the ONLY chippy around that doesn't make me ill. Fresh fish, good oils and J himself is an absolute stellar man. Been going here nearly since it opened years ago and -any- issue is addressed immediately .
Tried chippy because of good reviews. Sadly although fish was tasty,chips and curry sauce very disappointing. Won't be trying again.
