We as a family of 5 own 6 Islabikes now and they have really become a big part of quality family time together. It started off with my two boys, now aged 11 and 8 coming for rides with me in France to the local village to get the morning croissants. I had to ride my old school Kona with my daughter on a seat on the back but she is now 4 and has her own Cnoc 14 which she has learnt to ride easily having used the Rothan first. My wife, who by her own admittance had no interest in cycling now owns a Jimi and loves coming for family rides with us. Throughout this pandemic our Islabikes have given us hope and freedom allowing us to safely get out and enjoy life. They are built so well and are so light that they make cycling easy and fun for everyone in our family. As you can see in my picture, they look stunning in the French sun as well. I was really impressed with the sales time on each occasion who talked me through the sizing and guided me expertly to the correct model each time, thank you Islabikes!

I visited Islabikes this morning for a trial on one of their fab e-bikes, in their glorious setting not far from the Mortimer Forest, just outside Ludlow. I was met by Dan, who was super-helpful and knowledgeable about their different bikes, and by his own admission not a 'techie', which I felt made it much easier to ask questions. He guided me through the possible options, having taken the time to understand what I wanted to use the bike for, and then he accompanied me patiently as I rode around the business park and up a small hill multiple times on a couple of different bikes, trying them out both with and without the e-function switched on. It was a great hour, and I can't wait to visit again when the new stock comes in later this month!
Our son is now in his third Islabike. So well made. So readily adaptable. Such friendly service. So gutted that they are shutting up shop. Could a buyer not be found?
We received fantastic service and attention at islabikes. Jamie and Abby gave us lots of information and answered all our questions. We were able to 'test drive' the bikes including an ebike and didn't ever feel that we were being rushed or pushed into a sale. The bikes themselves are excellent and I love the fact that the Janis has been designed for the older cyclist who is beginning to find cycling just that bit more difficult. The Janis is light and elegant and beautiful to ride. The brakes are responsive and the grip shift is easy to use. We also tried the eJanis which is superb and a dream to ride. You can tell that these bikes are carefully designed and built for a particular type of cyclist. I had always known that Islabikes made excellent children's bikes but didn't know that they also produced bikes for adults that are equally as good. Visiting Islabikes was a different experience to visiting most cycling outlets which often seem very sleek and commercial. We really felt there was a passion for producing a good, affordable bicycle that is strong and reliable and a joy to ride.
Huge thanks to all at Islabikes, but most especially to Jamie for his friendly, relaxed, but thorough introduction to e-Jimi & e-Janis. I was soon on a test ride, and even had Tim's company on one run up the drive. The bikes were a dream to ride and the electric assist system was controlled but powerful. I ordered there & then - can't wait for my bike to arrive on Monday.
I'm enjoying riding my new eJanis bike which arrived last week. A great experience visiting the company and being guided through by the very knowledgeable Jamie. Couldn't believe how quickly it came after ordering! It helps if you happen to have an experienced or enthusiastic bike maintainer e.g. husband on hand to set it up right. Technical support gave very good advice.
Purchased as a 6th birthday present for our daughter. We were a little nervous about ordering without being able to see or test first, particularly as these are not cheap bikes. By the time we ordered we knew delivery in time for birthday was likely to be tight. The salesperson we spoke with knew it was for a birthday and i can only assume they pulled out some extra stops as the bike arrived within a few days. Extremely happy with the quality of the product and the service received and my daughter loves the bike.
After waiting 9 months for an e-bike for which I’d paid in full from Ribble Cycles, and then being told delivery was to be delayed a further 2 months, I decided to cancel the order and try Isla Bikes. I went for a test ride on the eJanis on 14th April, ordered and paid for it on April 19th; the bike arrived on April 21st. That’s what I call excellent customer service! As for the bike – I love it! It’s so light and easy to manoeuvre, which at my age 71 makes cycling much more fun. Having arthritis in my knee, the step-through design is the perfect solution.
Well what can I say, when lockdown hit and the need for a bike was a priority, Islabikes absolutely stepped up to the mark. The Silver Beinn 29 was clearly the best built bike around, and with it being a home grown British company and with quality guaranteed, there really was no need to look elsewhere. From start to finish the Customer Service has been second to none, with the delivery date edging closer we recieved regular updates on when the Bike would be delivered. On arrival the Beinn 29 was everything we expected and has really helped lift those lockdown Blues. If you are considering buying your next Bike, make Islabikes your goto company, simply the Best.
