Nice quality coat hooks; they feel strong and appear hand made with some variation in them. Outstanding delivery service, my order arrived ahead of expectations, thank you!
Ordered some pipe and connector fittings for some home furniture projects.nOrdering process online was quick and easy and added a few spares to get free delivery.nDespite being in Cornwall the next day delivery arrived as advertised.nProducts were packaged well, clean and easily identifiable. Nice little gesture in the box too.nParts fitted well and project was easily completed. Will definitely order from here again if needed.
Poor service.nNext day delivery paid for, item did not arrive and no one contacted me. I had to call late that evening when I was told the courier received an empty Jiffy bag because for some reason the weighty metal items were packaged in a cheap Jiffy bag and apparently fell out.nnReplacement was sent which did arrive the following day but was missing one of the items I ordered. When I called to query it I was told the item was presumed to be out of stock and therefore could not be sent. They included a link to something similar.nnI am told they have issued refunds for the next day delivery and the undelivered item but judging by some other reviews I guess I’ll have to wait to see if that actually appears in my bank account.nnAbsolutely would not use this company again, it’s not worth the aggravation.
Lots of choice for door handles and great price.nFast delivery. But what stands out is the exceptional customer service. There was a small scratch on one of the items, I phoned and spoke to Lewis, I then sent him a photo and literally within minutes and with no hesitation he said he'll send a replacement. Just received it, in less than 24 hours ... thank you.
So recently there was a programme on Radio 4 about how people on an individual level can make their voices heard against large companies. It was very interesting, the take away points were basically that things like protesting doesn’t work, companies can just ignore you. You need to have an actual negative effect on their sales. So things like boycotting and more easily, reviews.nnIt’s a shame that I feel compelled to leave a review like this because the fact is that ironmongery direct is great. They offer fantastic products at great prices, their service is excellent and their website is so easy to navigate. They have the feeling of a small company that’s done good, a company that you could actually get behind and root for.nnHowever, a couple of times now the problem has started for me after I’ve ordered a product. I seem to get relentless follow-up communications and emails pestering me to leave reviews. This is a minor inconvenience because it clogs up my email inbox but it’s something that I shouldn’t have to deal with but I can reasonably tolerate to a degree. The bigger problem started for me however when I started getting phone calls from 3rd parties asking me to leave reviews for my order.nnWhy on Earth are you giving out my private info to other people explicitly so that they can bother me in my day to day life?? If someone you knew privately did this to you, you’d be really annoyed. So why do you think it’s any different if it’s on a professional level?nnNOBODY on planet Earth likes or appreciates this kind of creepy, invasive marketing, absolutely nobody. And everybody is doing it and it’s sooooooo frustrating. I order a lot online for work and I get dozens of emails and phone calls from people asking me to “rate my experience”. Let’s be real, I didn’t “have an experience”, I ordered some door handles. It wasn’t an “experience” that felt so wonderful that I can tolerate all this relentless pestering.nnLet’s go back to the good old days when companies had at least a little bit of respect for their customer’s time. I ordered a product, you sent me the product, I used the product. Let’s just leave it at that. As far as I’m concerned there is ZERO need for any further communication unless there is a problem with the product or unless your service was so over-the-top amazing that I feel compelled to leave a review. But don’t try and force it, it just feels false.nnProducts: 5/5nInvasive harassment: 1/5
