Hidden behind the large castle motte in the cemetary sits 4 glorious pictish stone fragments within a glass case. What a find! The markings are very clear - as is the glass which is quite a change! Usually the glass becomes quite dirty but this case is obviously well looked after. The info board has everything you need to know on it. A great find!
Amazing set of Pictish carved stones recovered from the demolition rubble of the later medieval church. They have had quite a life, originally marking a sacred Pictish site, then built into a church and finally into a churchyard wall. Now carefully preserved within a glass case
Some very cool pictish stones are kept here in a large glass case.nThese symbol stones are broken and fragmented but still very cool to look at.nYou can find them kind of at the rear side of the large mound.nThere are some very cool stone circles nearby as this is a significant pictish area.nWell worth a visit if the picts are your thing.nSome amazing but well hidden sites in inverurie are including 2 medieval battle fields.
Worth seeing, unfortunately a very careless place was chosen between gravestones and on the path despite the charming surroundings...
